  1. Thanks for the advice, WD. Apparently Navies stocks some good fish as well. Nice carp in there, plenty in mid doubles, big catfish as well. I was also there once when a guy pulled out a goldfish of at least 1-2lbs. And little hill isn't that bad anymore, you might not want to park near the pub or shops but apart from that your car should be fine. I know the area used to have it's problems, but not so much anymore. The 4 bricks myth has escalted quite a bit lol. WD, do you know why certain fisheries don't allow ground bait, apart from on the feeder? Do you know why this is, as I've always seen success with groundbait. Liam
  2. Hi ATS, thank you for the welcome. Thank you for the advice, WickerDave...hopefully that should help me. WickerDave, what's Navis pit like, I've had a walk round and it looks okay, but I've never fished it. It's very local to me you see, have you ever fished it or heard what it's like? Also, is Knaptoft any good? Liam
  3. Hi all, I'm 19 years old and have recently decided to start coarse fishing. I'm from Leicestershire and have never fished before in my life. It is something I have wanted to do for a while, but couldn't previously because of medical problems. But I'm on the mend now and have decided to start fishing. I'm familiar with all the coarse species, but that's about it lol. I have basic tackle to coarse fish, rod, reel, float, shots, hooks, hooklinks etc. I was wondering if anyone could please give me tips on where to fish and the best rigs for a beginner with a rod. Preferably float fishing, but I'm open to other methods so long as they are simple to constuct and fish with. I'm open for all tips and advice. Thanks in advance, Liam
  4. Hi all, I'm 19 and have decided to start fishing. I'm from leicester, but aren't familar with any fishing lakes or fisheries. It's something I've wanted to do for a while, but medical problems have held me back previously. But I'm on the mend now and was looking to start coarse fishing. I'm familiar with all the species...but not much else lol. I was wondering if anyone could give me some tips please on where to fish, that's fun to fish, I'd rather catch plenty of small-medium size fish rather than a few big ones. I have a basic coarse fishing rod, reel etc and I'm preferably looking to float fish, but I'm open to other methods. The simpiler to set up and use, the better...please. I'm from Leicestershire, but I'm willing to travel if needed. Thanks in advance, Liam
