  1. Well I've had a quick look round google shopper and found a couple from garbolino- viper match or viper carp for just £50/60. Are these any good because they seem quite cheap. Otherwise, my budget is indeed very low for a pole, only to about £120 but from I've seen this seems okay for a 9m pole?
  2. Hello, As a generally quite new fisherman I'm not quite sure when to start fishing for tench, I know that its some time in spring but is it too early to start fishing now? Secondly, I,m wondering if anyone can help me choose a 9m pole to buy. My budget is quite low but any recommendations would be much appreciated at the lower price range- nothing specific. Thanks
  3. Thanks budgie! Could you please tell me how to set up for upstream legering? Sorry, I am new to this style of fishing
  4. I have three quiver tips on my Drennan rod: 1.5oz, 2oz and 3oz. I am going to fish for bream on the River Thames and will be casting a decently sized cage feeder of groundbait to about a third of the way out. Which quiver tip should I use and I also want to know if it would be sensitive enough for roach or other smaller species? Thanks, Pato
  5. Is the dragon carp line really that bad? Oh well, it was just a freebie Thanks for the offer Feederfisher but i have my eyes set on this reel so I think I'll get it. Does anyone know what the difference is between the float and feeder version of the Drennan reel? And is the rod ok for bream on the river thames? Thanks for the replies guys.
  6. I would only be fishing at 30-40 yards tops with the Drennan series 7 puddle chucker method rod. Would the Drennan series 7 feeder reel be ok to use with this at this range, I like it because it takes 100m spools of line (I can use my free line with this week's Angler's Mail lol). The fish would mainly be tench to about 5lbs (although apparently they go to 10) and crucians of all sizes. Also would this rod be a bit over-gunned to use for bream on the River Thames? Thanks in advance, Pato
  7. If you buy a tub of maggots for a session but at the end you find that there is still tons of maggots left, 'that's ok i'll use them tomorrow' but alas you wake up in the morning and they seem to have got more skinny and have apparently had a sweaty night as they are all slimy! What do i do? Pato
  8. I have a 2.75tc rod and i want to know if i can use it to target bream, chub, and the odd barbel, but i think that it is too powerful and a heavy feeder would be more suited to this. The place it would be fishing would be the thames around hampton court. thanks, Pato
  9. Thanks guys, The bread flake would be used for chub of 2.5 to 5lbs. Chopped worm... Double hooked worm...
  10. Bread Flake... Worm... 15mm Boilie... 10mm Boilie... Hemp... 8mm Halibut Pellet... >>>>>>>>Please add to the list<<<<<<<<<
  11. Thanks for all the help guys, do you think that the JW Young's trotter (the one with a 2-4lb line rating) would be alright for casting a waggler out onto the thames? Pato
  12. Can anyone recommend a float rod of about 12 or 13ft? I would really like it to be versatile so able to take small fish like roach but maybe also being able to cope with larger fish around 8-10lb. I will be fishing it on small rivers, large rivers (the thames) and commercials too. I am only young so my price range is £50-70. Thanks, Pato
