  1. Im back home now. i got there at 9.30 in hard rain and wind and began to wish i never came. At about 12 the rain stopped and the wind died down and i hooked into a 5lb carp. About 1 hours later i had another and just as i was about to leave i had another. 12lb in total :D Very happy! I didnt think it was possible in winter . Just proves that the "Don't feed the fish" technique works a charm. How was your day Newt?

  2. Tomorro im going to try my local still water. The temp. will be between 5-12oC and i think i am in with a chance. Im going to throw out a method feeder (meaty marine groundbait only) with a single soaked pellet (crazy baits), with no loose feed. While that is on the alarm im going to have a play with the pole, using worm/meat/sweetcorn on the bottom. Im going to feed a little bit here. Do you think i'll catch? I think im doing everything right??

  3. hmmmmm. I think you are starting to sway my views.. I have heard goldfish have a STM (short term memory) span of about 10 seconds. Fish do feel stress (fact) so possibly fear and pain? Im open minded.

P.S. Do chessnuts really do that!

  4. Take a look at the rigs page! Looks like a collection of rig images nicked off other pages  . (possibly with permission) Rig page 1 seems to have a few rig pics off AN including Gaffers helicopter rig drawing. Gaffer are you aware of this??

    P.S. Cheers Ferret

  5. If fish dont feel pain the bolt rig would not work. It is obvious they feel pain. Ever had a pike flick about when the hook is being removed? Or a bleak jump about like crazy trying to get off the hook when being swung in? This guy talks c**p!

  6. What is barbel fishing like at this time of year? I imagine its ok as river fish feed all year round. I want to catch a barble of about 5lb+. I have only ever caught them by mistake while chub fishing (about 2lb). What bait do i need? How much will i need? (im told LOADS is needed  ) Where should i fish?

    Cheers

  7. Hummmmm..... Hard to choose. Was my best year yet with a good few big bags. In order:

    1) 4 carp (all around 15lb) caught on the surface,

    2) A big bag of chub, trout and grayling,

    3) 2 keepnet sections full of bleak.

Next year im gonna concentrate on tench, bream and roach.
