  1. Hi was just wondering what would be the best set up to float fish for carp in the margins. The carp range from round 10lb to the bigger of 20lb. I have an avon rod of 1.75 tc I wondered if this would be ok. If not what type of rod and line b/s would be best to use and also what float would be best. I was hoping to use main line straight through to the hook, and fish it on the bottom. Any pointers or advice would be greatly appreciated. Regards Al
  2. Hi wondering if anyone could give me any help and advice. I was just wondering when feeding a swim what do you use with different rigs. i.e. a pop up rig what would you use as loose feed? It just i notice when people talk about different rigs they may fish it as a single hookbait, or over particle baits or just over boilies. Sometime they will use small feed and sometime use larger items. Also was wondering what people put in there pva bags does chopped up boilies and pellet work well. Regards Al
  3. thanks for the answers great help.
  4. Hi just a few questions, as I really wanted to give float fishing for some biggish carp a go. I was wondering which rod would be best I was going to try using 1.25 t/c avon rod to float fish close in, wondering if this rod would be ok. Also is it possible to use a hair rig while float fishing i.e. if using something like the lift method, and if so what hooklength should i use, because if i have say an 8-10lb mainline would it be ok to use my normal 15/lb braided hooklinks, any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Ali

    hello

Hello new to the website hoping to pick up any advice and tips. Cheers. Ali
  14. Hi new to this site and was just wanting a little advice. Having carp fished for so long this year I have decided to do more course fishing for alot of other species, so I have decided to buy myself a n avon rod (1.25 tc), with quiver section and three push in tips ( 1,1.5,2.),. I was wondering with this rod for example if i didn;t want to use the quiver section would it be possible to use the rod with light bobbins and bite runner etc for maybe tench? also if using a loaded feeder what is the best way to land on the same spot, even after catching a fish?, one more question , could the avon top be used as a float rod, thanks in advance ali
