  1. Thanks guys! I was bored at work and had nothing better to do and I do like a bit o writing lol it throwing it's body into the flow would make alot of sense actually thanks for that I am keen to know what goes on under there when my feeder is down there lol maybe ill try and look for some good yo utube clips of what goes on down there I am keen to know or have a better understanding of how things work !
  2. I don't really know if I should be posting this in here but I am quite chuffed on the recent Bream I got out of the Thames down by the bridge in Kingston not far from John Lewis. I had stopped fishing there for awhile now because of the snag getting on my nerves, it being a popular site for mooring boats god knows what mess is under the water, I am assuming rubbish and worse OLD ROPE. Before I never used to use any rigs at all so I would lose a lot of maggot feeders to the snag that is in there but when I came back I decided to cast further out. I am in no way an experienced angler my gear is simple and fairly low budget and I don't go as much as I should now days but the main reason for this catch being particularly special is the bad luck I have had catching anything for the past year and it being the biggest fish I have ever caught. I know their not hard fighting fish or much of a challenge? Or am I wrong or a challenge as biting goes as they seem to bite slowly? Anyways on with the story. This catch came on Sunday the 20th of February with typical English weather! The sun going in and out of the clouds feeling warm then feeling chilly, the clouds did decide to open up and grace me with rain eventually. I have 2 quiver tip rods but I was only using one that day I can't really even tell you what they are called as I am at work at the mo they are fairly cheap and cheerful but do fine for me. I try not to get much gear as I don't drive and really not up for dragging a lot with me via public transport. I was using a Drennan maggot feeder with red, white and bronze maggots and Drennan size 14 Barbless hooks. I started at around 11 am and until the big catch I had caught two small Dace nothing really worth writing home about. I cast out about 30 yards with some practice over the past year or two my casting is a lot better hitting round about the same spot. The river flow was quite heavy that day as it was dragging the feeder quite far after casting before stopping but less effort in keeping the line tight I guess . I was holding the rod pinching the line to feel any sort of bite and I got a small bite then my line went slack I snatched at it and felt something big on the end of it. The other lads near to me that had been there all night noticed and came to watch, my gear is not heavy about 6 lbs or less same so for the line, so it looked quite hard but wasn't really that bad it did however put up a bit of a fight which as I have read unusual for Bream as they are not hard fighting fish ?. After landing it the boys offered to weigh it for me and it was 7 1/2 lbs I will put the photo in here if you don’t mind me looking tired and crusty. I have blanked out as of late and I took a trip to Frant lakes with a friend last year and blanked out there and my regular fishing spot by the river next to Hampton Court Palace however a wild life association guy told me that there had been a couple of seals going up and down the Thames and that was the reason for the lack of fish. I hooked onto a big bream down at Kingston before but lost it right before the landing attempt and have been ever since trying to land a big one like that as it somewhat haunted me for so long I am glad that I am haunted no longer. It is indeed the biggest fish I have ever caught!!!! Thanks for reading if you wish to grant me any tips and info please feel free knowledge is power! Thanks guys.
