I love fishing, I love mobiles and I love IT. I’m by no means an expert angler, in fact id still class myself as somewhat a novice. I still remember my 1st fishing trip, a friend invited me to a local pond, it was a summers afternoon and I had nothing better to do so I tagged along. Turned out the pond was just a 5 minute drive from where I lived, a quiet secluded quarry, I didn’t even know this place existed! My friend setup my rod for me, put a cube of spam on my hook and 'cast' it in! Barely 5 minutes had passed when my float suddenly dipped underwater, is that normal? Was it a bite? I was just about to ask the question when all of a sudden my float disappeared... I leapt out my seat and struck the rod, the reel started screaming, I was in!!! A brief fight and I had my 1st fish... a 5lb common carp it was a beauty! My heart was racing, my adrenaline was pumping, that’s what people fish for... I was hooked! There have been a lot of ups and downs since then but my love for fishing’s remained. I mainly fish for carp but enjoy a bit of river fishing also Out of a random conversation an idea was born: "How cool would it be if there was an app where you could take pictures of your catches and show them off? Yeh and you could chat while sat on your peg, like on Facebook but just about fishing, yeh and you could checkin to each pond and find out which ponds catch the most fish, Yeh and with what baits! Let’s download it!" So we checked the Appstore, there were already apps out there but they had poor reviews. A recurring theme, great idea, poor app. If you need a job doing right, you might as well do it yourself right? Cue Boxfish My main priority was to design an app that was reliable, easy to use but full of quality features that would really enhance peoples fishing experience and improve their game. I truly feel with Boxfish I achieved just that.
