  1. Hi all If there are going to be a few anglers fishing Friday afternoon/evening I will join you, sadly I can only fish until 9ish as I have a match Saturday morning. But it will be good to meet a few of you and may be even catch a Zed Darrell
  2. Thanks for your help Mark Darrell
  3. Hi I am planning a trip to fish the LAA section of the Avon in Salisbury. Can anyone give me some info on species/tactics etc..... cheers Darrell
  4. Hi I was hoping to attend the meet, but I have a match on the Saturday and its my sisters 40th do that night, so there is a good chance I will be hammered. I am going to try and get down and say hello late Sat afternoon, but sadly cannot fish. For the lads after the Zeds, make sure you take some freash trout from the supemarkets with you, It worked a treat last season. Take some Eel section as well, If the Eels are about they will rob the dead baits, giving false runs alnight. I use 10lb Fox Carbo Flex as trace with size 8 semi barbless hooks. Eel section I Hair rig with single size 6 hook...works a treat. Good luck everyone Darrell
  5. Being a newbie, I am not allowed access yet to PM yet. I will text /email John, Hc pass the number on Darrell
  6. I have the number for the bailiff if you want to give him a call. Night fishing is allowed by none members. There is little weed about on the Ely Beet section of the river at the momment, but it is very clear. If the water is not ideal there are plenty of pegs on The pits. To target Zander you really need some weed free areas. Darrell
  7. Excellent report John and some cracking photos Darrell
  8. Hi I am quite new to this forum and would be interested in attending one of the meets. I have fished the Fens for the past three years, fishing September through to March targeting the Zander and I have beem known to stick a rod out for the Bream and Tench. I would recommend fishing the Ouse near Ely. This stretch is run by Ely Beet who do day/night tickets at £5.00 for twenty four hours. This part of the river is probably the best area if you want to catch your first Zander. They are there in good numbers up to 9.5lb with a really good chance of a double. There are also good numbers of Bream, Roach etc...as well. If the river is very clear Roswell pits is just up the road. These two pits tend to have some colour to them giving a better chance with all species. The pits are also run by Ely Beet at £5.00. Three rods are allowed and there are no silly rules. Darrell
  9. Hi John Nice report and a good catch. you have sussed the Fens Bream out. I think I need to spend some time watching how it is done. Darrell
