  1. Evening folks! Just managed to post a new blog online, have a read and by all means let me know what you think. Thinking about it now, I suppose it's funny. Then, not so much... http://coarsefishingpaul.blogspot.co.uk/
  2. Evening all! Apologies for not updating sooner, life has gotten manic all of a sudden, I've only managed to wet a line once recently! I've managed to get 2 posts up recently. One was an interesting break from the norm, and the other was the result of some on-going investigative work in my region! Both worth a read, have a look here - http://coarsefishingpaul.blogspot.co.uk/
  3. Evening all! Still getting to grips with the location and although I have lined up a few great venues, the weather is doing it's very best to prevent me wetting a line. Hopefully something will change over the coming days, but in the mean time I've had to content myself with finding some tackle stores. You can read my most recent fishing blog here - http://coarsefishingpaul.blogspot.co.uk/ If you could suggest any other I'd be more than hapy to pay them a visit.
  4. A recent relocation has meant I've had to search out new venues and stores. To be honest, it's been tough and I'm still "sussing" things out, but here is my most recent blog post - http://coarsefishingpaul.blogspot.co.uk/ p.s. any local knowledge would be appreciated. Currently live just south of Yeovil.
  5. Afternoon all, I've not been out for a while but my last trip before I moved further South can be viewed here! Was a great day on Newport Angling's School Pond. Not hard to see why they have a lot of matches there. Loads of F1's, definite weight builders! Have a read here - http://coarsefishingpaul.blogspot.co.uk/
  6. I'll give them a whirl. Not to sure what to make of Chris Tarrant on fishing, I've seen his work before on various other fishing programs and wasn't bowled over. It can't be any worse than Robson though!
  7. Winter has definitely arrived since I wrote this, but my most recent trip involved catching a some last minute feeding carp off the surface. Was great fun, for a few hours sport. Have a read here - http://coarsefishingpaul.blogspot.co.uk/
  8. Morning all! Here is one of my most recent fishing trips. Managed to get a new PB Perch in 3 casts. Was very happy! Then the carp showed up, so I had a bash on them too! Great day out on a fishery that never fails to produce in any conditions. http://coarsefishingpaul.blogspot.co.uk/
  9. While I quickly have reception, here's another blog post which has just gone online. It's in keeping with my last post, and hopefully answers the remaining questions I've been getting. Hope it all makes sense. Have a read here - http://coarsefishingpaul.blogspot.co.uk/
  10. Sooooo reception around my neck of the woods has gone from good to shocking, so I am waiting for internet repair on the 28th. So blogging and fishing has slowed right down (totally forgot Christmas was coming and how expensive it was). My most recent fishing blog has gone online though, hopefully it is informative, and answers a few questions I've received recently. Have a read here - http://coarsefishingpaul.blogspot.co.uk/
  11. Afternoon all. It was a mentally busy weekend, genuinely didn't stop. Still knackered now, but it does mean that I will be able to fish a host of new venues over the coming weeks (although it's getting colder at a rate of knots). My most recent blog post of a trip with the FIL. Catching PB Roach. What a fantastic days fishing on the brilliant Welsh lake. Have a read here - http://coarsefishingpaul.blogspot.co.uk/
  12. Morning all! Got an incredibly busy few weeks coming up so I'm not sure when I'll be able to get some of my other blog posts online, so I thought I'd pop this on one before the ball really starts rolling my end! Although it was a wet day out at Tri-Nant fishery, ended up having some cracking Roach and a nice Carp taken on worm. Have a read here - http://coarsefishingpaul.blogspot.co.uk/
  13. Morning all, and happy Friday! Been a slow week on the blogging front due to a mouse malfunction! But I've just posted 2 new trips. This first was a lesson in humility, but managed some nice photo's. The second post involved a very busy afternoon on one of South Wales's busiest matches fisheries. Catching fish of this size and frequency, it's not hard to see why. Have a read here - http://coarsefishingpaul.blogspot.co.uk/ Also can someone confirm that this is an Ide? -
  14. Morning all! A new fishing blog went online this morning. Bit of a mixed bag, but I got it right in the end, and for the excellent price of £5 you couldn't really fault it. Have a read here - http://coarsefishingpaul.blogspot.co.uk/

  21. Afternoon all, I managed to get 2 new blogs up recently. One about the Healthy River program currently being run by the Charity Groundwork on the River Sirhowy. They are slowly re-introducing Salmon into the river as an indictor species after a sustained clean up. So far so good, but lets hope the little bleeder come back! The second one is a great tackle store I recently visited, and a definite must visit shop if you are in the area. Have a read here by clicking the link below.
  22. After an incredibly busy week I am finally getting round to putting this post up. Cefn Mably Lakes in South Wales. Absolutely full of fish! Had a blinder of a day there, catching good sized fish one after another. If you're in the area I would definitely give this place a whirl. Read the full write up here in the link below.
  23. Morning all, visited a few tackle shops recently to see where I could get the best value for money. So far I've visited; Garry Evans Green's Tony's Tackle Cefn Mably Tacklesmart Cliff Harvey I know there are a few more to go to as well, but if you can suggest any it would be greatly appreciated. You can have a read of how I got on in the link below...
  24. Afternoon all! Went fishing to Riverside (in Llanbradach) the other day. Surface fishing using the pole. Great sport, loads of fish. Was tiring but well worth it! You can have a read here and look at some pictures here - http://coarsefishingpaul.blogspot.co.uk/ Looking at getting out on the river shortly, anyone recommend any stretches in South/Mid Wales which produce reasonable Chub and Barbel? Preferably day ticket waters. Thanks
  25. Low pressure systems... Interesting. I know the lake does fish better in the evening. Maybe I'll give that whirl next time. You should see the amount of bait the carp boys put in there though, it's mental. Do you think fake baits put off fish? I've been put off using fake baits before because I didn't think they had the same pulling power. Then again if it puts off the small ones but the bigger ones aren't perturbed maybe I should look into it a bit more. Anyway, your advice is duly noted. I did go a few days later with a few people and had a another good day. They were getting bigger, but then the sun came out and all the big fish stopped. (no surprise there).
