  1. :unsure:Thanks for the quick reply I'll probably be fishing in lakes mostly. Leazes park has a fair size lake and there's often a bit of fishing going on there. I've been looking on various websites for equipment and like you say, a search for coarse fishing does bring up a lot of gear for carp. Not that this does or doesn't interest me but I just don't know what I'm looking at. Excuse my ignorance but sites are bringing up results for carp/feeder/spinning/match rods, now I have no idea what I need. I suppose I need to get a rod sorted first then find a suitable reel?

Excuse my ignorance but I dont know the difference between a carp rod and everything else. Now I'm getting sites list feeder/spinning/match/float rods. No idea what I'm actually looking for. I suppose I need to sort a rod first then a suitable reel and take it from there?
  3. Evening all, new here. I've done a bit of fishing on and off since I was a kid but only ever as a bit of a laugh. I've now decided to get myself some decent kit but don't really know where to start. Obviously a rod, reel, tackle etc, but beyond that I'm clueless. So I'm after a bit of advice really. I'm kind of basing all this on coarse fishing but to be honest thats only because it was the first dicipline I looked into and seems to be what I've tried a few times before. What do I need in way of kit and license? I'm in Newcastle so I assume there'll be plenty of good spots in and around Northumberland
