Hello Barry and many thanks for your reply. I googled, found contact information for a local angling club and spoke to a nice enough bloke. He said it would be better if I paid them a visit, so I'm going to venture over tomorrow. I'm looking forward to it

Hello everyone, I'm very interested in learning how to fish. I have only ever fished once in my life, about 9-10 years ago. All I can remember was that it was by a river and ever since I've wanted to learn but never got round to it. Now I would really like to get involved! I'm 25 years old and live in Potters Bar, Hertfordshire. Should I be looking at starting with general coarse fishing? Would it be worth while contacting my local angling society, if there is one? I would appreciate any advice.
