Is a bigger deadbait for pike more productive?
I have always used the sprat or sardine or half an eel so in general no more than about 6 inches long but after talking to local experienced guys about what will catch on my local river they say they get much more bites on the bigger baits such as full herring or mackerel.
I have had no real choice in recent years but to fish stillwaters so could it be that the choice for the rivers is a larger bait?
What do the pikers think on here?

I find hemp and caster a good alround mix this time of year and maybe sweetcorn. I try not to use maggots until the colder months but then i am on the pike anyway..

I don't care who becomes president of the US although I'd prefer it not to be Trump as I consider him likely to be a danger to humanity if he had that much power - but the above quote has to be the biggest pile of vitriolic bilge I've seen on here for a while.

It's always been that way.
Very few 'have not' been educated in top schools and very few of their children and it will always be that way because that is the way the world goes round or shall we say 'money talks'.
When people say you must vote for a party in a general election i answer why should i as if i disagree so much on each of their policies i do not think they are fit for government why should i put a cross in their box?
I know one thing if i were in the US i could not vote for either of them and would rather put my head in a bucket of ****!!

By their own confessions they should have come cleaner sooner and not wait until she collapses infront of a car .
Just another example of why she really does not care about others only herself and her complete obssession she has of coming to power no matter who she has to tread on or lie to get there..

Good post chesters
On saturday i trundled down my local day ticket water ( literally 5 minutes by car) for an evening ticket to catch some twilight perch and all 4 lakes were packed and i can honestly say that every swim (as i walked through them all to the furthest lake were all ledgering for carp and not one float fished. You would have least seen someone float fishing 20 years back but not one.
I found only 2 swims and one looked perchy but over hanging trees meant it would be hard casting so i decided to just flip the float under a bush.
After a few perch around the 2lb mark i spotted a carp right under the swim and just lightly dabbed it in its path and off it went with a 18lb 4oz in the bag and i never heard one buzz all round the lake from 4pm until 9pm when i upped and left.
Result was 5 Perch from 2lb-3lb a 5lb carp and the 18lber and my last catch was a 2lb 6oz eel .
There are some very big perch and a potential record eel in these lakes big roach and bream and yet its carp 'everyone ' fishes for which is fine by me you carry on boys

We also have wild boar in East Sussex, I used to fish a reservoir that was surrounded by dense woodland, and one could often smell the boar. The public can walk the woods. Sooner or later someone, possibly a child, is going to get attacked. Nobody in authority seems to be taking the problem seriously, but no doubt there will be a major hoo-ha when something happens.
Our local deer harvester has unofficial "permission" (from the landowner) to cull the boar. and now offers boar meat to his customers. Perhaps that is enough to keep the population under control.
Indeed there is and even dog walkers are advised to keep the dogs on the lead round here or was it owners on the lead?

We look at the President as all powerful but is America really run by him or him/her or are we dismissing the fact that these people are just pawns in a much wider game.
Some say the Jews or the masons or many other organisations run the state.
When such a pathetic ruling as in my link below i wonder does it really matter who gets in as this as these twisted morons are ruining america ..

Donkey sized i would put in the region of atleast 4lb+ here in the South where the records are being recorded...
As for my opinion on that 'mostly' the big perch come from pike free waters i can only agree with this article that is not to say they are right but i like to think so...

I have a love/hate relationship with the BBC.
I love the nature and i think the drama is very good but the repeats get on my wick so i perservere as i do believe that if we lost the BBC we are kind of losing a part of our history as it is also respected through out the world which is rare now that anything British is respected.

It's pointless discussing Trump as he is never going to be voted in as women and the ethnics will make sure of that let alone the rest .
The real talking point is Clinton as that is the person who will be the most important person in the world and the thought of a dumb ass (similar to Bush) having the finger on the trigger does not scare me for myself but my children and grandchildren...

Its quite the opposite as the temptation of a large meal gets to entice it i think. Many pike will just leave it half in its mouth while the other half is literally being digested as it lays motionless on the bottom
