And sure it will enforce me To review my thoughts , I agree with you that it is different according to The angle you look to the scene with, so when you intend to enjoy The natural beauty ,surely self hooking is better. But mate I didn’t speak about strike excitement definitely , but about Enjoyment comes from action and interaction along the fishing time , in Case self hooking , we just make the trap and wait , and as we involved With big leads , there is no communication via line .yes I speak about Heart beating while interact with via line communication. [ Dear Ken L I feel glad that you know the mangar fish " barbus esocinus" which considered Wrongly as a species of the genus barbus . we locally distinguish it as a separate Genus, though its body resembles to the barbel's ,but its mouth is very large , it is Predator fish and some times they call it the pike of Euphrates . It is iconic fish and grows to huge weights , but unfortunately the numbers of This fish decreased severely in the last period ,so since about 10 years I never Caught one or saw other angler catch one, The fish I spoke about in the first post is our barbel " barbus xanthopterus" which Is little different than Europe barbel "barbus barbus", and this fish survived in front Of the bad environment conditions , like the decreasing in river level ,and the illegal Commercial fishing with dynamite and small gap nets. Dear phone : Thank you for reply , as you said exactly, fishing ways in my country resemble that in north America Because you have large rivers like Euphrates and some times larger , but friend which was The way you use to detects bits , quiver tip or bobbin or simply the rod tip ,or touch legering You can hook it by your self , I like and appreciate the large skill of the barbel anglers in UK first because they are river angler , second because they resist the self hooking style which I think is More suitable fore lake carp fishing, and the aim of this thread is to hear their point of view. euphrates angler

In the past, we accustomed to leger with the lightest lead we could get away with depending on the flow and the distant needed, also we need to observe the bites Permanently to choose the right time to strike, so develop a large skill to avoid False strike, early or late strike , the strike which only pricks the fish and spook it. I call this way in fishing: the conventional ( traditional) way. In the other side , the modern style of fishing ,depends on what called self hooking And the trend seem to leger with begger lead like a minimum 2 oz , this type prevailed And popularized by lake carp anglers , and fishing media with tackle companies behind Applied a tremendous quantity of propaganda pressure on the anglers to enforce Them to switch to this type, using the efficiency as standard. Most people in my country changed to bolt rig self hooking set up with heavy leads, Fore me as an old fashion river angler, still feel incompatible with the modern way,and Still like to hook the fish by myself , the standard I prefer to consider is the excitement And the pleasure I get while fishing not the efficiency , I love to hear the opinion of other barbel anglers? Mr elton this is not new commer post, it is a message to you' the problem still only I can access the homebage and forums pages any other page from the left column i get a message "the process had been aborted". also in the forum alot of errors,several time i have to log out and repeat the log in because I get a bulletin mmessage that I am not in while my usere name is in the left side of the page: logged in as a: euphratesangler. when click your profile you told me: error you must be in so Ilog out and log in and then click to post you, error;you must be ,again I log out and log in try to make thread you give mr: error you are out ,you have to be in, this is the forth to acces this window, what is that . you have my email and I never pass through this only here. best wishs dont view this text it is only for you euphrates angler 8/3/2012
