  1. Here, here same goes for me. After a seven year gap from fishing it was a bit daunting to come back, but with the help on here its made my life easier The guys on here go out of there way to help and advise and I must say its all good advice, just makes my fishing even better. If I ever have a question no matter how stupid <look at some old threads > I have had answers that have helped me loads. I agree keep up the good work I still have a number of questions but will ration them accordingly I think this is by far the best forum I have visited and believe me I have visited a few. [ 08. 2. Chhers lads, I will give it some more thought.
  3. I saw the article re the wrapping of a slice of bread around the hook length, seemed like a good idea. You could try enhancing this by spreading a good dolop of Marmite on the bread before wrapping it around I have not used boilies a lot as my local water bans them therefore I do experiment with all sorts of weird and wonderful baits, small cherry tomatoes, lychees, sweets, clove of garlic etc. I have not had much success however, which is not nice

  5. Are there any other cheaper makes of the quick release landing net system other than the Fox one? £100 for a nte is a bit steep  By using one of these ensures better fish care from the net to the mat, as well as being very convenient. And NO I am not a tackle tart, I am just being practicle
  6. Shooter I have had a look on the web mate and these links may or may not be of interest. I hope they help anyway. Norfolk Angling Broads fishing Lakes in Norfolk Broads sport
  7. I just knew that Gaffer would have had a peek  [ 06. March 2003, 12:44 PM: Message edited by: Neal ]
  8. I surely hope you are not suggesting that our Gaffer is a tackle tart
  9. Yep, I have ordered a few bits and bobs as well. I am sure that Gaffer has had a peek also
  10. Is there a fishin planned for 2003, if so what are the likely dates and venue? Ta. [ 05. March 2003, 04:41 PM: Message edited by: Neal ]
  11. What are the reviews/views on this bedchair as it is quite cheap compared to some on the market? [ 05. March 2003, 02:55 PM: Message edited by: Neal ]
  12. It must be great to meet one of these guys in person, even better find out that you are in the next swim to them I also thinks it good that they obviously take time to talk to the mortals and give advice etc. Knowing my luck I would wake up in the middle of the night and find that Rex Hunt had set up camp next to me . I am bound to get a reply now saying I met Rex back in..............
  13. This site may be of interest to one or two anglers on here No names mentioned of course tackle tarts
  14. I was not knocking him, top angler and he has had some great catches, more than me  I was sort of being a little sarcastic, sorry Anyway what were your views on the programme? I thought it could have been longer, about an hour, but then again just like the real thing I could watch and read about it all day. [ 04. March 2003, 05:57 PM: Message edited by: Neal ]
  15. The only thing you really missed was the bit on Redmire, which could have been longer. The other articles were about 10 mins on kit and a bit on Hearn and his rigs etc. Including Pepporami Although the bloke is a puka angler, gotta be said [ 04. March 2003, 05:33 PM: Message edited by: Neal ]
  16. As seen on last nights carp in focus Terry Hearn has so much faith in his own baits that he uses Pepporami!!!! Was it on all three rods??? So, what was the verdict on the programme then  [ 04. March 2003, 04:55 PM: Message edited by: Neal ]
  17. Elton its called Carp in Focus, or Total Fishing and lasts well in to April. Focused on carp fishing, repeated as and when, check your TV guide, SKY sports 2 at 6.30 tonite mate. 19. Ta mate, I knew i was close but was, as usual making it harder for myself Will give it a bash tomorrow!
  20. Right, I got me cheap braid from the place Gaffer posted, filled me reel and went down to my local lake for a practice at feature finding. No one was fishing so I could walk around the lake and have a play in different areas, although the lake is not that big. After some practice I became used to the different behaviours of the rod tip when dragging the lead. How the hell though do you find the depth of the water  I read that as soon as the lead and float hit the water tighten up, then feed off a foot of line/braid until the float appears, the depth is how much line you have peeled off with your hand  I tried this and found it very, very awkward to say the least, is there an easier way? If so can some one shed some light? Ta First trip out this weekend <yes I know I'm a wus> and they forecast rain  Could have been worse could have been a frost a steady 8 degrees all over the weekend. [ 26. 22. I did appreciate the idea about the wheel barrow with some holes drilled in it for the straps!
  23. Have just looked at endtackle.com and found on the rig bits page right at the bottom something called JAILBAITS. It's a plastic cover that covers the boile before you tie it to the hair. Looks as if it would never work   If you want to have a look at it it's here, bottom entry and then click view to see the strange contraption. Stange little thing!
  24. Gaffer yep I still fancy a trip out with you give me a couple of weeks or so as I am starting a new job in three weeks, maybe five weeks. Looking forward to the short drive to Oxforshire so you can show me some tips As for the Berkley bait I am def going to take a tub or two over to France with me, gotta get a bloody rucksack now Arghhhhhhhhhhh will it never end? I have worked out that I cannot get all my gear plus the clothes etc I will need for the week away in my Carryall. Looks like a 110 litre rucksack as I will need to take my hair dryer and stuff The NashSpeedloader rucksack looks the biz, any views? I would be able toget my dressing gown in that as well [ 25.
