berwick ponds is no longer a day ticket water. the lake opposite called the slips is now day ticket. run by same people (used to be the other way round) verry shallow water quite a lot of fish but not a very big average size. you have to pre book the place as well. i done 2 early morning sessions last year whilst my mates done the night i had 1 fish each session only 3-4 hours float fishing in the reeds near the car park both very low doubles on meat over chopped meat and pellets. ps take some insect repelent.

fifty years a fisherman by john wilson. one of the best books i have ever read. more of a autobiography than a how to do it book but everything revolves around fishing in it. brilliant

allthough i have never been into match fishing i loved reading about frank barlow in the anglers mail years ago. and i think john wilson has got to be right up there with the best.

i use avons as well as a big set of nash scales both of theese seem very accurate reading the same as each other from 2lb up to over 30lb. but if your on a budget the waymaster scales are very accurate and also very light and also very easy to read and adjust.

i had a wychwood ultimate protection that takes 6 rods made up. it is absolute crap. first the tensioning strap snapped. then everytime you put quite a lot of gear in with any weight the shoulder strap slips right down to full length. after that the rubber sheath on the carry handle split. this holdall is only a few months old. i got in touch with wychwood (leeda) and they said take it back to tackle shop. as i bought it online i could not remember what shop it was. anyway my local tackle shop (pro maser angling) agreed to a replacement being sent to his shop with leeda collecting the faulty one. when the new holdall arrived leeda had actually billed him for it and also expected him to send back the old one. when i got home and opened the new rod bag they have actually sent the wrong one (only takes three rods made up). i have sent emails to them and still awaiting a reply. i have actually bought another holdall now as i was fishing sunday but have asked leeda for some vouchers or a credit note. still awaiting a reply. by the way when i looked at the 3 rod holdall it seems to have the same faught with the shoulder strap slipping down as soon as there is any weight being put on it.

i have a sensas bolognaise rod model saone 700. i have had no luck trying to get any information on the rod. it is not something i think i will use that much so will probably sell it. i just dont no its value. the only link i found was through www.bsfiske.se this comes up with some sort of price but i dont even no which country it is from. any help will be very much appreciated.
