  1. Thanks

You certainly can and it can be very successful. Method feeder seems to have lost its popularity but I recall having loads of nibbles on scalded trout pellet moulded around a method style feeder with pellet or mini pop up as hookbait.

Give it a whirl and be lucky.

  2. Braid on the mainline and hook length at the same time can be prone to tangle. That's not to say you can't do it but mono mainline paired with braid hook length or braid main line with mono hook length has less problems. No issues mono to mono.

    thanks

  3. Go outdoors selling shakespeare omni x 12ft feeder rod comes with two tips. £29.99 or £19.97 with a discount card.

been using mines for a good while now and i love it to bits. biggest fish ive had on it is a 10lb common but i know it can put up with way more than that ;)

Got mines from an old tackle shop who has now closed down :(

    Thanks :fishing1:

  4. Just use your float rod and rig it up as if your float ledgering; but use the feeder as your ledger.

I set up with two shot locking float depth ( or just two rubbers) then the feeder, then a small stop shot at your chosen hook length, then the hook.

Gives very sensitive bites and works very well at under arm casting into shaggy areas or under trees: and your still enjoying waggler fishing.

In reality you won't be putting much more weight onto the rod than you would with a Polaris float.

    Thanks :fishing1:

  5. Yes, you could get away with it - hell, my first rod was used for everything - but it's not ideal, and you risk having it broken on a savage take.

You can pick up a Garbolino Rocket feeder for around twenty notes, and it won't be the only decent deal if you shop around.

Budget (and not so cheap) feeder rods on Ebay go for peanuts - well worth a look.

    thanks

  6. I would recommend a new rod with a quiver tip insert as they have more back bone than a waggler and you will be able to see the tip moving a lot more as they are more sensitive. Also depending on the feeder types you want to use in weight. I am using cage feeders , method feeders and pellet feeders with great effect with the right gear. Tried using a waggler in the past and missed more takes and had to go fishing for my rod a few times as didn't see the take

Its just going to be a small cage feeder

  7. I have been waggler fishing for 2 years but I want to start feeder fishing could i just buy a cage feeder and use my waggler rod its a Ron Thompson 13ft waggler rod instead of buying a new rod

    Thanks
