  1. sorry, i dint make myself clear on this subject. I need to know how to elasticate the whips i have bought for my kids but i have always used rod and reel so i am totally confused as how to do this part of the setting up process plus i keep forgetting you polers use the term rig for the action end of the kit, B-) i hope ya can help me now i have cleared that bit up

  2. i have just purchased 3 whips (3m, 5m & 7m) along with 3 elastication kits(sizes 4, 6, & 8) for my kids to use but as an "all my life" rod and reel user i am not sure whether to attatch direct to the eyelet that is on the tip or should they be cut and threaded like a pole? I am confused, please help. thank you all in advance, Tomo

Walk from the basin in the centre of Sheffield about half a mile towards tinsley, you're looking in the water for an inlet letting warm water into the canal, I used to fish there about 10 years ago, if the company is still trading it must be worth a shout as there were always some better fish hanging out there (the inlet pipe is inly a few inches wide so take your time and really search it out.

It was just after a road bridge about 150 yards before a railway bridge, we had perch to a pound and roach over a pound from there when the weather got cold and the fish shoaled up.

Another tactic is find the deepest hole, where it's deeper by a good couple of feet, once the ice has been and the temperaturures are really cold the bream will shoal up there, uswe bread punch on a size 16 (yes I know that's huge for a canal but it really works)

thanx -- will have to take dog for a walk down that way see what i can find

use a big coat and thick gloves fool :-)

Strange reply, is this a new way of catching fish, i'd find it quite hard to cast with all that on the hook. There are some strange people around.

Anyway which bit do you normaly fish, i think the "plumpers" stretch is a little deeper?
