    The guitarist and vocalist also wrote classic songs including their biggest hit, 1973's Ramblin' Man

  2. Singer Melanie Safka has died aged 76.

    The US folk musician, best known for her song ‘Brand New Key’ and rendition of The Rolling Stones’ classic ‘Ruby Tuesday’, passed away "peacefully" on Tuesday (23.01.24), her family announced.

    He won the World Cup as captain of West Germany in 1974 and lifted the trophy again as manager in 1990

  4. I have been tasked by the family to arrange a holiday with fishing (freshwater). Looking at some sites I naturally read the rules. As I sometimes go carp fishing I was interested to see that some sited say no fixed or bolt rigs. I usually use the Korda rig system where the lead will  break away if it gets tangked. I understand no fixed rig but what about a semi fixed one like the Korda. would that class as banned or not. I would appreciate your learned comments guys

    Sir Bobby Charlton, the Manchester United legend who was a key figure in England's 1966 World Cup victory, has died at the age of 86.

    Charlton won 106 caps for England and scored 49 international goals - records for his country at the time.

    During a 17-year first-team career with United he won three league titles, a European Cup and an FA Cup.

  6. Former Manchester City and England striker Francis Lee has died, aged 79.

    Lee scored 148 goals in 330 appearances during an eight-year spell at City, helping the club win multiple honours, including the old First Division title in 1968.

  7. Randy Meisner, the US bassist and singer who co-founded the rock band Eagles has died at the age of 77.

    Meisner helped form the group in 1971, taking lead vocals on the track Take It To The Limit, which he also co-wrote.
