  1. There is no 'before the big bang'.

Both time and space were created at the time of the 'big bang', so it is nonsense to talk of 'a time before the big bang', or something existing before the big bang to create it.

In every culture and time there are creation myths, Big Bang is just another along that line.

Just as in Genesis and other stories the Big Bang theory needs more than a dash of belief to come to terms with.

Where as the Great Celestial Carp is absolute fact and anyway she could whip the A**e of that puny Chub :yeah::yeah:

  2. Thanks for the info Jeeps.

Any way everyone knows that Genesis and Darwin are non-sense. The universe is the spawn of the great celestial carp.

The stars are the eggs that haven't hatched yet :sun:B)

    Peace to you all

  3. I think that copyrights lapse 70 years after the death of the composer unless there are other arangements, but not 100% on the legal side

EG the Amatuer music group I belong to does not have pay royalties on Gilbert and Sullivan operettas now.

    Cheers

Try the Performing Right Society http://www.prs.co.uk/ they should be able to help

  4. Down South, Whats the rush?

I get the same feeling in Inverness :blink:

I dread driving down "Sooth" these days. Especially when I visit the family in Bournemouth.

There you have the added hazard of "Mature" motorists. You must remember that just because the vehicle in front is indicating right, it won't neccessarily turn right :wallbash:

  5. Didn't realise they was attracted to humans. ;)

Oh they are in an aggresive way, but they rarely attack Ferrets so you should be OK.

Seriously though if you are confronted by an angry gander, face it and open your arms wide so you appear bigger. Don't turn your back on the blighters unless you want a lovely big bruise on your bum :headhurt:;)

  6. Hi Jan

As a goose keeper I would say, that is a Toulouse Gander (domesticated breed). He is in very good condition and has his left wing clipped. At this time of year these gents are thinking about father hood so become rather territorial, hence the aggressive behaviour.

    Cheers

  7. A few years back I took part in a study to determine what colour was most visibile at sea by Search and Rescue craft.

Lifeboats and Helicopters took part in searches for coloured bouys in various sea and light conditions.

I believe that yellow was by far the most visible.

  8. I would like to wish you all the best over the festive season from all the AN forum members. I have made a load of new contacts and friends through this forum Elton,I am sure most of the other members can echo this sentiment as well.

    Thank You :)

  9. Spare a thought for the workers at Christmas :(

I finish a day shift at 1900 then back at 1900 tomorrow for three 12 hour night shifts. At least I am home for Christmas dinner this year but will have to be on mineral water all day as have to drive to work :(

Never mind I am then off for three weeks hols including New Year to catch up :D

    Merry Christmas all.

    God bless us everyone :P

  10. As a purer than snow ex smoker I can understand the feeling of smokers being marginalised.

Any worker can refuse to enter your home if he/she thinks it is unsafe and this might include tobacco smoke, like wise my habit of walking about with a meat axe might deter some.

However what really worries me is the idea that local authorities will draw up lists of smokers homes, where can this idea take us consiparcy theorists

  11. So this makes heterosexuals living together and not wanting the marriage option as distinctly 3rd class citizens, or have I missed the point?

The thing is Alan that a hetrosexual couple have always had the option to marry whereas a same sex couple have not until now. No one is forcing any one into a formalised relationship but just making things a bit more equal.

    Cheers
