  1. Why don't you just put the new SIM into the old phone that has the contacts you want on it and use the option to copy contacts from phone to SIM. Then put the SIM back into the new phone and for safety, copy the contacts from the SIM into the new phone's memory. Then set the new phone to only use the phone contacts memory.

  2. We were fishing from a boat in the same bay a few hours before the accident. While we were there an air sea rescue helicopter was also practising. It was the first time we'd seen them for about two weeks, and then look what happened a bit later. I hope they are recovering well now.

  3. I have always found slugs to be the most deadly, working them freeline around the likely or even unlikely spots. Apparently crayfish are even more deadly, but no longer legal dead or alive.

  4. You haven't said what you are trying to catch. However it's probably small fish causing the problem. Yesterday I caught a perch about 3" long on a lob-worm on a size 8 hook and it had manged to swallow the lot! I gave up the worms in the end because even the little roach were carting it around the river!

  5. I haven't caught enough barbel to know how wide they should be, but both yesterday's fish and the older fish in my second post were really quite wide I thought. I also had one about a week ago that was a similar length, but a lot thinner. I thank it was this one, which I did not weigh but guessed at around 4½ ibs :

  6. Thanks - however I am sure it was a bit bigger than this one which I did weigh a while back and it came to 6½ lbs. I was hoping today's one may be nudging 7lbs? It's the same unhooking mat and my scales were reasonably accurate until I lost them.

  7. I know this is not very big as barbel go, but I also know it is more than 6½ lbs. This was the best of four (or was it five) I caught tonight from a small, very wild part of the River Lea near my home. When I came to weigh it, I discovered I'd lost my scales. I had them last Sunday!!!

My net measures 26" on the wiidest part. Realistic estimates greatly appreciatd. Last time I guessed the weight of fish I peronsally caught, I was 2½ lbs under (it was a 9 lbs salmon - I thought it was about 6½ lbs).

  8. I always allow a chub to run with the bait unchecked for 3 - 4 seconds before striking. I rarely have any issues with deep hooking, but if I am quicker I get missed bites. However perch, especially with a slug, tend to take even longer, but only do this if you are sure it is a perch. Knowing the difference between perch and chub bites comes with experience.

  9. You could use the MS publisher trial to print it to a high quality pdf with free PDF software. You can then print the resulting file at will on a real printer whenever you want. I've recently been using PrimoPDF with good results, as long as you pick the highest quality PDF it can create.

  10. I back up my PC monthly with Acronis True Image Home 2010 and retain 2 copies of the resulting backup file on different portable hard drives and leave one copy on the PC. I keep one of these hard drives at work. These backup files can now be encrypted and password protected.

I also have two internal hard drives on my PC in a RAID 1 configuration. I reckon I would have o have some pretty catastrophic bad luck to lose my photos, or any other files for that matter.

  11. "In this case, officers had concerns that there was a potential danger and the owner of the knife was charged with possessing an offensive weapon in public."

In the glove compartment of his car is hardly in public. This was absolute lunacy in my opinion. The car itself is more dangerous.

I often carry one of several a pocket knives I own with me. One has a 4" locking blade. Do I need to stop doing his now?
