Ok guys this wasnt much of a post - but 148 views and nil replies
Do you really want to offer no encouragement > for people who bother !!!!
This used to be the top forum
Due to the infighting I left it alone for years
Am surprised that not even the mods can offer encouragement
All the threads are a disgrace - many viewings - few efforts to reply - or encourage
What do you guys bother for if you cant promote your own site ???
Very strange _ what is the point !!!!!!

Great report as always John - catch up with you soon there is a bass with my name on it down your way !!!!

Ive got the suveran uptider too - it has a griplock handle and can be shortened to use that way when not casting - i love it and use it for all sorts of fishing

had about 20 smallish fish in the snake lake on waggler/maggot
then

Never been near it mate. I go to Magiscroft once in a blue moon and that's it.Hello - Have any of the Scottish lads been out on Orchill this year - and how was it.
I usually fish it from about now on - but am wondering if the extra cold winter has" put it back" !
Cheers

Have been looking for months now to buy
A seat
a double feeder arm (that attaches to the seat not a tripod)
a double butt rest
Continually out of stock (since early summer) despite being heavily advertised in the angling press
If anybody can tell me where they can be found or offer a suitable alternative I would be very grateful
Thanks
Peter

Thanks lads -esp Jeremy - at least now I understand what they are tring to tell me - I preume that on top of the 2 bb to lock in the waggler there is room fo another small shot - say no 8 to sink the bait
-
Same....I lock the float with 2 stops and then start shotting, whatever way I wish from the hook towards the float and then bulk shot underneath the float until it cocks...much of a muchness I suppose.
...andy...

Just bought some weighted wagglers to make shotting easier - so I thought - what does
classic 5+2bb 3, 0+0,8gr mean - or
classic 4+2bb2,4+0,6 gr
Help - thats the way it is written !!!

Don't fill a fixed spool right up to the lip with braid. Leave about 4mm or you'll sometimes find the braid comes off in tangled loops. Once you've filled your reel, put the reel onto a stiffer rod, tie the end of the braid to a fence or something immobile and walk all your line off. Put a decent bend in the rod and reel all your line back on, under tension, keeping that tension as even as possible from beginning to end.
Thanks Andy will try that - I have lost quite a bit now to the tangles - so it is not spooled up so much !!!
Yes its the carp braid ta

Bought some Wychwood sinking braid - 15 Lb
For feeder fishing - however it is tangling during the cast - occasionally and sticking in the eyes of the quiver tip - today I lost four feeders to crackoffs and destroyed a quiver - any ideas - It can happen a couple of metres or 30 metres into the cast
It forms geat big loops which I sometimes can get out - other times I have to cut and re-tie - have never had this problem with any other braids !!!!
What should I replace it with ???
Thanks

I sometimes fish a pond for tench - usually I do quite well - however a feel at times I have missed a bite and not had time to react.
I fish about 3-6 inches over depth (waggler and an uneven bottom) with a no 8 short about 15 inches from the hook. Should I organise it that the no 8 shot is closer to the hook and lying on the bottom ??
Any advice or alternatives would be appreciated
Tend to use sweetcorn on a no 18 -3 Lb Trace fish tend to be 1Lb - 3.5 Lb
Thanks

I was there in November - loved the place - just wait till you see the mullet in the harbour !!!!! ( no fishing allowed in harbours though !!!)
I fished off the rocks and had 9 species - 7 of them new to me - and 5 of these unidentified as yet !!
All my fish were small - biggest a 1/2 lb mullet
I just took a small telescopic rod and normal course gear - using small (s/z 16) hooks
You can do boat trips from other towns but I didnt bother
There is a tackle shop in the centre that sell frozen squid for bait and can advise you how/where to get bigger fish
I however have to fish next to the FPO sunbathing !!!!
Ps some of the fish have beaks and usually bite the hook clean off

Lake of Mentieth (Boat only) - can be excellent
-
The tactics you use for bream with maggot or worm - would be a decent start point - esp if you are able to use a maggot feeder
I would be happier with my bait on the bottom and static - however we all find success in different ways,
