Much too hot for me. And as for your summers........... Give me the UK climate any time.
They come for the cheap beer too. Plenty of places at 1€/pint still.
-
Around 30C in the shade here this weekend.....Big resorts are busy. Heard some Brits complaining it was "too hot" today
-

As to the Belgrano...I remember an exclusion zone in which anything entering would be attacked...supposedly anything outside the zone would be safe..the Belgrano was in fact out of the zone and sailing away.
Enemy or not the sinking left a bad taste for many.
Hence the restrained comments in La Nacion making the observation that the action was possibly her most questionable action.
Overall, it looks like there have been less negative comments there than in the UK which is perhaps surprising.

There was a war? Thats inflation for you its was a conflict at the time

Wonder what the headlines are in Argentina?
http://www.lanacion.com.ar/1570718-el-hundimiento-del-general-belgrano-su-decision-mas-cuestionada
La Nacion....Restrained..Saying that her most questioned decision was the sinking of the Belgrano ship.Overall a factual article without rhetoric
(thank goodness for my spellcheck ).

Then now perhaps you are closer to realising why so many UK nationals are pi55ed off with it then! "New Labour" started the ball rolling...the current govt. is tightening up on it but not before time....!
No need to "tighten up" Worms....Just say no.
Even EU migrants have no automatic rights to benefits that you talk about.
-
Well perhaps you're happy paying your equivalent of NI and tax etc. and allowing unemployed people into Spain to claim free housing and unemployment benefits without having contributed a penny.
We don't pay anybody in that situation. Nor give them free housing..There is no obligation to do so.
You have no obligation either. If you do it, it is because your politicians/authorities want to....No other reason.

Some UK nationals don't agree with seemingly unlimited immigration and an apparent reduction of our "Human rights" to protect those immigrants...ok, Govt. does it but don't blame the British for being proud of their up-bringing...the ones that work for a living at least...
"Seemingly unlimited immigration, and reductions in your human rights to give more to immigrants"........Dont believe all you read in the tabloids, .
EU nationals have a right to travel and work in any EU country including the UK...That is why so many British are here in Spain.....The British embassy in Madrid uses the figure of 808,000 British living here. They enjoy the same "human rights" as Spanish Nationals.....Why would they not? Their "rights" are even recognised in our constitution. Other EU nationals, (French, German etc etc have the same treatment)
Similarly, why would other EU nationals not expect the same "rights" as UK nationals when they travel there? It works both ways.
Without wishing to appear rude Worms...Maybe it is time to get yourself a passport and venture out of your village into the big wide world to see the bigger picture.

LOL...I said that in another post.
As usual when a country prepares for misery a scape goat is sought for the woes of a nation.
Sorry, i didn't see your post that said the same.
Says something when people of other countries and nationalities can see it clearly...But some UK nationals cant.
I was with some prominent US media people this morning, one of the topics of conversation was whether in the UK it would be the Eastern Europeans or poor that were to take the blame for everything this coming week.
Cross post Cory..

The current witch hunt, which is led by the right wing tabloids against the poor, reminds me of Nazi Germany in the 1930´s....Just swap the poor for the Jews.
Dangerous road they are going down.

Was too warm to sit in the sun to eat at 14.00 today.....Had to be shade in my T.shirt....

Not that the cuts affect me in any way, but even the most right wing of the media here are reporting the new cuts as "A savage attack on the less well off".
It has made front page news on many of the papers.

I wonder if there are any "families" enjoying their "special day" by going to the football?
-
I would be looking for something a bit smaller.
Im downsizing at the moment for the same reason...My house is 300M2 (around 3000Sq feet??) And with the land i have with it, is just too big considering i am off flying around so often. Got lots of invites to the USA pending.
I will buy an apartment, just lock the door and leave it.

Looks really nice, and a big property for the money. Make sure it´s not TOO big!
Good idea you have to rent before you commit to buying, incidentally...
sales to non Spanish are now running at the same rate as they were in 2007 before the crisis started.
Main buyers are currently British, Norwegians and Russians.

So do I...I'm just the messenger...
Want having a go Worms...I share your opinion of the man.
It is down to your lot to prosecute him though. Nobody else.
-
the UK Govt. can change the laws they desire
No they can´t.
-
ahh right, so the uk lets in a convicted terrorist and affords him more than full protection including a house over his head that other uk tax payers can only dream of.
If the UK chooses to do that....Who but them are to blame?
What has that got to do with the thread subject of "free speech" though??
Has spring sprung?
