  1. No we get along just fine, thanks. I'm not sure if its so much what I,ve done, it's more the order I think.

Don't you think she looks younger (if a bit too bright) in the second pic?

No offence Cory, but that 2nd photo looks very washed out on my monitor, you've made her look almost ghostlike.

  3. :clap3::clap3::clap3: = Jaybees Border Collie, beautiful photo, the exposure is spot on and what a lovely pose, superb!

Here are a couple of photos of my granddaughter having fun when we took her out for the day earlier this week.

  4. What has suprised me is young chicks still in the nest at this time of year.

    Maybe a 3rd brood???????

Only two chicks so hopefully will get well fed in time for thier trip to Africa. :)

That also surprised me Ferret, so much so I even checked the exif on your shots as I thought they must have been taken a few weeks ago. I don't know enough about Swallows to say if this is so out of the ordinary or not & apologies for doubting when the photos were taken.

Like you say, I hope they get fed sufficiently to have the strength for the long journey ahead.

    Regards

    Cliff

  5. Taken when on my holidays. The tree/bush is an Acer.

Medway, are you in the marines & you took that out on manoeuvres? I can't quite way it up mate.

Cory, love the spider shot, great detail.

  6. Cliffs of Étretat, Pays de Caux, Seine-Maritime, Haute-Normandie.

Never been there, but recognise it from postcards and calanders.

Étretat it is, a fabulous place for walking, although some steep climbs to start with. The more popular walk is following the coast to the West, which is the hill/cliffs shown in the photo I posted earlier, if you follow the cliffs to the East & after a mile or two look back where you came from the rock formation resembles the shape of an elephant.

    Here goes.

  7. Wonderful photos Jaybee, well done that man. :clap3::clap3::clap3:

I've only ever had fleeting glimpses of Kingfishers & the best I've managed is one blurred photograph. Your shots certainly give the necessary encouragement & inspiration to keep on looking. They look like a damn hard bird to get the exposure right on?

  9. More cracking shots added, I feel transported back in time looking the pony shots Cory.

I was trying to get some shots for the Wildlife & Nature comp today. I got a few taken at distance, they were just that bit too far away so quality wise they don't make the grade for the comp, so I thought I'd stick a few here instead.

Photography aside, I certainly enjoyed watching these Cormorant fighting over a couple of posts sticking out of the water.

  10. Well done, again  , Den! A fine Goldfinch shot. My goldfinches are still visiting the garden on a daily basis, but I can't get them to land on anything other than the shed or the feeder, which doesn't make for such a pretty & natural looking shot as yours.

I snapped this Ruddy Darter sunning itself on Friday, taken with a telephoto lens rather than macro, so not as sharp as it could've been, but I'm happy with it.

  11. Shame it's not facing me but happy with the pic.

An exceptional photo Lardy, one of the best ladybird shots I've ever seen!

I don't think it could've looked any better had it been facing toward you as you wouldn't have been able to see the wings.

How you've got such a sharp image at 1/160th sec shutter speed is beyond me. :clap3::clap3:
