Yes Gortex is fine, Fo`r rain, BUT I dont think it reacts well with salt water, Donno about you guys but most of what sokes me comes from spray and not rain, I think salt can damage the gortex????

Hmm, The way it says, natural or artificial fly is confusing,
Usualy the salmon an sea trout rivers are alot more strict and make sure to state the rules about everything clearly,
-
HElleys srimps a big fly usualy orange looks just like a shrimp, Big probably wieghty and with trebles, I will advise to be carefull, Athough you may have found a loophole that they didnt actualy say fly rod and reel i bet they would still try to slap you a hefty fine for using spinning rod/reel with a fly on the end, One river i fished for seatrout although it said fly only they where very strict, They allowed the use of worm, however, i used a half oz ball wieght once and got told off by the balif as apparently it was splitshot only,
Seatrout fishins better in the dark anyhow....

Welcome Westie, FOr flatties you want 2 or 3 hook flappers with long snoods so the baits are right on the bottom, Beads, sequins and sometimes spinner blades just above tjhe hook are good attractors, Small hooks from size 1ns too 4rs,Rag or lug are good baits, But as is small strips of makarell,

Those flies look spot on norrie,
Ive just taken up flyfishing in the sea and its gave me new insentive, its just such good fun and the fish dont half kick back,
So far in 3 months over this summer ive caught about 11 bass(biggest 2.5lb) 5 pollack mostly small but my pb a 4lb whopper, and lots of wee colies, Ive tried using trickory by freelining rag tipped flies on the flyrod too, cathcing a pb ballann of 3lbs and several smaller ones, Great fun, For the bass in the shallow rough water ive used the floatin line, but the rest all a fast sink line, Oh the coulers bang on too all my fish av been on white flies, But nowt fancy just my old trout lures

I cant complian with sufix i have literaly got miles of the stuff from 12 lbs(4000 yards) 14 lbs (4000 yrds) and 2 20lbs and 2 30lbs all tritanium, brilliant stuff, Dont think ill be using it all in a hurry, Likewise to spasor i got it as a freebie )) I use the 14lb on big pit fixed spools an it flies off, 20lbs on the multipliers

I used 18lb red ice on my diawa emblem big pit, With shockleader and 5/6oz sinker it flies off absolutely brill casting, Found it realy nice to use, and good to see also especialy when dark although i heard complaints with folk usin it on multipliers

Its an outrage that sea anglers had not been considered to have representatives in the first place at the consultation, Hopefully with all our kind emails, we could be considered,

Ahh, was one of my mates who want happy usin them sea fishin, But then again i bet he didnt wash it, Salt would eventualy eat away i think, so maybe just like everything a quik rinse with fresh water is called for, Also though i think its cos he used it while climbing down rocks and the lot he probably wore away at it over time
