  1. Well after a cold start it turned into a great day, Although the fishing was not easy I think all caught. My tally ended at 6 trout and one decent grayling along with a few small roach perch and a parr.

    heres Andrew wrestling a grayling.

  2. Again I blame them pesky Otters

On a serious note I was Pike fishing in the Herbert woods boatyard earlier in the year and was "trapped"in while the environmental agency tested the boom/barrier for some neap tides ,dont mind paying my licence fee! shame they couldnt prevent these losses. :(

  3. I once watched Ivan Marks giving a display of pin-point accuracy while fishing for bream on the "bomb" during the dartford open many years ago. Fabulous though he was I doubt even he could have purposley taken out a golf ball!

  4. Nicked this from one of Argyl`s previous posts, Hope this is helpful. :sun:

    Travel directions

Travelling on the M3 westbound, take the A303 then the A30 towards Stockbridge. From Stockbridge follow the A3057 towards Romsey. Before you get to Romsey you’ll drive through the village of Timsbury. Then turn right into Manor Lane, following the lane to the end and turn left through two brick pillars (Timsbury Fishing) Bear left following the track and park behind the lake. Fishery rules and boundaries will be found in front of the office. Got yourself lost ? Timsbury Fishery office number is 01264 365165

There are three lakes with carp. These are not included on the river ticket. Don’t fish them unless you’re prepared to pay for another ticket on the bank.

  5. Spoke to Heidi today and she says that we can arrive early but cannot hit the river until 08.00 so meet around 07.30 in the car park I guess? dont forget your Licence as last year we had a check!

Metcheck looks O.K despite leon signing up

  6. Unfortunately Tony and Sue have had to drop out at the last minute due to unforseen personal issues.

So: there are now two places available (first come first served so to speak)

Anderloo I will see if I can pick up the Pin from Tony for you, and for those of you paying on the day I would appreciate you seeking me out on the day.

    Tight lines Kevin (KAYC)

  7. While Tony is away it would be good to get a definate idea of who does or does not want to participate in the BBQ which can be added to our day at Timsbury,It does break the day up and if memory serves me, is a good quality meal.

The cost to supply us is £150.00 which would work out to £7.50 each assuming all wanted it: The fewer participating would increase the cost pro-rata or make it not viable so could all going express their preference by means of attatchment to this post for Tony to assess on his return :sun:

    Many thanks , Kevin

  8. I'll be spending a few days around St Pauls Cray in Kent and will have a little spare time to fish the R Cray.

Anybody know of any free stretches down that way? I'll have the car and can travel if need be.

    cheers for any info

Hi Glenn, A few years since I fished the Cray but many happy memories including a 1lb 1oz Dace from the river at the back of Bourne road playing fields a stretch around 3/4 of a mile, Try the bends towards the downstream end from the far bank ( cross the bridge in the middle of the fields )

If you cross the bridge by the cafe and look under I bet there is a small shoal of chub mixed in with the Dace!

Also there is a free stretch alongside crayford way down to thames road.

let us know how you get on I might try again myself! Tight lines. Kevin :sun:

  9. Eeek, horrible way to go. My thoughts are with his family.

It's worth mentioning that if you do happen to fall in wearing waders point your feet at the surface straight away and the air trapped in the waders will keep you afloat.

er iv`e got an image of my feet pointing to the surface and my head dragging the riverbed ?
