  1. May be being dim here, but isn't ADSL an 'always on' broadband connection. You shouldn't have to dial in at all: http://www.adslguide.org.uk/howitworks/ If your browser and mail progs are set right opening them should give you instant contact? Len
  2. Folks. Motorists don't subsidise roads for cyclists - 'cos the cyclists are all on the bl**dy pavements.... Len

Hi there, it's possible, but from your other symptoms I'd also consider Hard Disk being on the way out, or even the motherboard - That's assuming you've discounted clashing programs preventing a clean boot up - Have you installed another virus program without uninstalling another? Sometimes cd burning programs can clash as they compete to load their resident programs as windoze starts. To be on the safe side back up all your important data asap. Then either call in on the guarentee or keep the fingers crossed. Good luck len
  4. Cheers Alan, I found that one and couldn't get to the site either - why am I beginning to get a bad feeling about this. Len
  5. Hi Alan, Yep it's the Chairmate system - well done - But they don't appear to have a web presence. Don't suppose anyone's got any contact details for them? Wag - that Penrose system looks sound - cheaper than the Chairmate, but attachment is more permanent than the Chairmate. Nah, Sorry Chris, not even close, but that chair does look useful - could be tempted. Shame they couldn't put in the origional review rather than the fuzzy scan. Len
  6. Hi DonRamos, Thanks for the thought but nope that's not it - even in my state of mental decline I think I would have remembered Octoplus. Len
  7. Hi Folks, Does anyone have a contact number, email for the company that makes the clamps that fit to the leg of your fishing seat so you can clamp in a feeder arm or whatever; the blocks are turned through 90 degrees to one-another and Handwheel Screws tighten down on one side to a slotted 'lid' that can be placed around a chair leg and an enclosed block on the other to hold the extension arm.- They advertised fairly frequently in the angling press with lots of pictures of rod supports and feeder arms clamped to legs of chairs but I've no old copies to have a look at. As is the way of things I cannot find their details, having bought two of their devices at the NEC show back in February and now needing to get in touch as one of the knobs has broken. The senility is so bad I can't even remember their name  TIA Len
