  1. "especially where piking has become an industry" "the fishing is in marked decline" Todays catch (!)... [ 03. March 2005, 07:19 PM: Message edited by: Charlie Bettell ]
  2. As this is just a bit of fun, if you do find out the true weight of the pike by using your head, please keep it to yourself until Gerry reveals the weight later. Thanks!!
  3. Captor: Gerry Castles Date Of Capture: March 1st 05 Location: Norfolk Broads
  4. In my opinion, 6ft 9in to 7ft 6in is the ideal size/length range for a lure flingin' boat rod - the overall length I would opt for would depend greatly on what I intended to chuck with it. Any lure rod longer than 7ft 6in would have no place in my boat. As Argyll said, go for a Dave Lumb lure flingin' boat rod - you wont be disappointed! 5. Hi As so many people showed interest in the TLD5 reels I was selling back in Feb., I though I would see if anybody here was interested in a Gemini GN 300 reel and a Pisces PC 200 reel - they are both brand spanking new and have never been used. A friend has asked me to sell them on his behalf. The Gemini GN 300 is about £125 new and the Pisces PC 200 £100 new. Gemini GN 300 Pisces PC 200 I'll sell separately - or as a pair. 6. What makes me a 'professional guide' bulster, is I do it as a full time job - it is my profession. With re. the person playing with the toy boat on Surlingham broad, I asked if it was you - your silence/lack of denial, leads me to believe that it was you. If you had not posted rubbish about me on this forum, I would not have had to waste my time putting the record straight. In future, I suggest that you think before you speak/push the submit button.
  7. "I was very surprised how many people were fishing the yare for pike most of them "guide services", we dont see that on the waveney t"hank god. What a load or rowlocks!! There are only two professional guides that work the 22 mile stretch of the River Yare. As for the amount of anglers fishing the River Yare, especially in the Brundall area, I suggest that you get your eyes checked. I have not seen so few anglers fishing the area in the last five years - I rarely ever see more than three other boats pike fishing during the course of my daily movements. You paint a picture that is nothing like the truth Mr Bullshiter.
  8. I am the only professional guide that operates in the Brundall area. Was it you that was playing with a toy boat on Surlingham Broad. How you can make out to people on this forum that you spoke to me, as if you knew me to talk to, when you clearly don't even know what I look like, is a joke. My advise to you, i.e. if you visit the Brundall area again, is take Peter's advise and follow me - you may have a bit more luck (!)
  9. "We saw charlie, his clients looked very bored indeed when we asked what they had caught we the reply of "f***all mate" from one of them, we told the what we had and headed back to the broad, then guess what, 10 mins later charlie comes chugging along and starts fishing." I've just worked out what Bulster stands for - 'Bullshiter'. Let's get a few things straight Bulster. 1. My clients never swore, nor did they, or I, speak to you. If we did, you would have been treated like any other tourist who comes asking, AY!! U caught out? 2. The only thing my clients had to say about you, if you are who I think you are, was what a pratt you were using a remote control bait boat on Surlingham Broad. 3. I never, to my knowledge, followed you onto Surlingham Broad. Why would I want to? See 4!! 4. The clients that you saw out with me, if you are the person that I think you are, i.e. the one playing with a 'toy boat' on Surlingham Broad, boated pike of 17lb, 18lb and 23lb - plus some smaller pike. Take a look on my photo gallery - you may recognise one of them. I'll let them know what you posted on here - I'm sure that it will give them the stitch (!)
