  1. Thanks for your help last night Newt(Re AOL).

Contacted them, all of us have had to change our screen names, hopefully thats it.

    Cheers chris.

Were off now to tunisia for the week :) No rods allowed though

  2. Hi Bradford Angler.I also think you are doing ok.Different varieties will vary in growth and flower production. If you want to propogate them ,lift them and divide them up.This should be done every 3/4 years anyway.By doing it you can retain the nice new rootstock and discard the older stuff.

  3. A TWELVE BORE .

Dont go along with the decoys.Having lost fish out of two ponds over the last 3 winters, have now netted them until plants reappear.

Both ponds are pretty close to the house and it does not deter the s**s at all.At least 4 other ponds(neighbours) in close proximity to me have also been wiped out on more than one occasion.

Since netting them I have not seen a heron in the garde mind you there aint much left for them!! .

  4. I have two small ponds,6x4s andtwo tropical tanks.

Dont quite know what the heons have left me with though  ,think i still hav a golden tench and some goldfish, pretty sure the ghosties have gone and the rudd  Have now netted them after r stocking three times in as many years.

Keep a selection of barbs, angel fish and tetras in the tanks.

  5. I used to take th Angling Times every single week, now perhaps twice per month if that. What was a good read has now become very bland.Take the area reports. In my area(surrey),they use to report on the stillwaters and the Thames and rivers Mole and Wey,now the three latter never get a mention  .Dont think the Norfolk Broads exist any longer,at least not to A/Times. :eek:I notice the sea section is as bad.

I would like the basic format to return to something like its former self.I for one would prefer more articles from a broader range of top names.

  6. Craig. The harbour(if u can call it that) can be popular.A better bet is to go to the main beach(las chucharas),dont know if thats correct spelling!!!!,that is to the left of the harbour as u face it,walk along the beach path towards a promintory, you will be able to see shops, bars etc,cut through the centre of the shops and re join the beach(leaving mum and dad in the shops :D .A little further on is a man made breakwater. It is a bit uncomfortable(all big rocks),worth the walk as it is much quieter there, and also the beach is nice that end as well.Enjoy

  7. Hi Craig.Where u going to on Lanzarote?

Have fished at Costa Teguise a few times. You can fish from the man made rock breakwaters,or the harbour. As a coarse angler,i took tele rod chubber type floats,6lb b/s line and a mix of leads for ledgering.Float produced a mix of small fish, including Wrasse i think;only small but they did go a bit.Think some of the better fish are to be caught on the bottom,as managed to pull out of some better fish whilst ledgering. There are mullet to be caught as well.Have also seen some kind of ray close to the breakwaters. As for bait,Bread paste, small strips of squid and prawns all worked, probably bread the better bait.Hope this helps

    regards chris. :)

  8. Saw the post about Jack Hargreaves. As a coarse angler dont often visit the sea section, but agree with all that has been said.Always a must see programe for me.No difference if he was sea, coarse or game fishing,or indeed not fishing at all,he was always interesting :) .Wish they would repeat some of those programes(better viewing than all these celebrity and aspiring pop artist programes that they keep churning out

    chris :)

  10. Hi.There is a commercial type fishery at roosky i belive,if that grabs you.Think there are around 40 loughs/lakes in the area.
