  1. If you are fishing sandy beaches a piece of 2" plastic waste pipe will do it (step the bore size up depending on what size butt cap you have) cut to length and cut a sharp angle at one end. it wont rot or rust and costs a few quid in wicks for a 6'section.You can push it into shigle but it wont last as long.

  4. Leon I havent been a member for Long on this forum. but in the short period of time that I have I have Alway been amazed By your Depth of knowlege and the non patronising way you deliver it, Its nice to come across a person that shares knowledge but dosent beat you up with it keep up the good work.

  5. LION DUNG?

I dont want to trivialise(sp?)your problem. but I cant see the point of removing a small, all be it anoying pile of cat poop from under your boat. In order to replace it with a pile of very big cat poop all in the name of keeping S@@t out of your garden. My Mate keeps pigeons and has a small 12v electric wire that runs around his garden at about six inches off the ground to keep moggies and foxes away from his loft It didnt cost a fourtune and will not do any long term harm to the target pest he swares by it

  6. 101 north ,

That opened my eyes a bit as well mate. I must admitt I still Get a buzz out of feathering though as I have gotten older ive learnt to stop.

now if I can apply that to beer Id be well away!

  7. Fresh mackaral or pout for the conger, red gills or jelly worms for the pollock, shads, pirks, muppetts for the ling and cod.

baited feathers for the bream. The skipper should realy be the one to give you advise all my wrecking is south coast and there can be a fair bit of regonal differance A fresh cuttle fish is a blinding bait for conger if you can get hold of them.

  8. Hello mate try to get a angular one square/triangle You may have to make one, as the shop brought ones seem to come up a bit small and a bit lite for my liking. With a flat profile I find the net easier to keep snug to the structure inevatably where the fish ends up in a fair tide run,and the extra bit of wheight in the rim not the bottom of the net makes it a bit more stable a cheap way to make one is 15mm copper tube and x4 yorkshire ellbows before you put it together add a bit of sand into the tube for wheight then stich in a replacement spiecimen landing net a roll of cord and you are in buisness my mates used his one for years just remember to fix the cords at the ellbows or it wont have the same stregnth and stabillity. The nets not yours!

  9. Has been a bit hard this season sam,one of the bass that I landed the other day should have wieghed in at about 4lb if the length was any thing to go by. But it just made over 2lb it also had a heavy infestation of lice on it I do not know If this was the cause of it being out of condition or as a result of it. But genraly hard work all round

  10. Hello Taiman,

Good to see someone Easing them selves In .

Fishing without a shock leader is dangerous plain and simple.I never had a car crash untill I had one. As I understand it the need for a shock leader Has more to do with concideration for other poeple than its pros and cons for fish catching. Carp anglers use them in non tidal applications with 8lb line and two ounce leads some times for a gentle 30yrd lob why? saftey. How many times has a crack off resulted in the lead sailing out on to the horizon with very little effort. Now I havent had the honor of meeting a internationaly renouned fisherman like Mr Albright but I am sure he would not mind, old git or not sombody adapting his invention for use in are pianfully mundian Tiddiler infested sport :D:D By the way did the tounerment caster chap you mention use a shockleader? and lastley but most importantly Welcome :)

  11. Tend to only fish two rods. I find you, or should I say I, can not give any more rods the right amount of attention resulting in a increased incidence of deep hooking especially if sport is brisk. Also being a bit of a lump I find hauling my fat arse out of a deck chair to often hard work.managing that many rods up to six you say would stop being fun.

  12. Hello Brian,

I can see the point that you have made but do not agree in full with what you say, firstly though I must say that I have never used a course fish as a sea fishing live bait, but have used them more times than I care to recal when pike fishing,Roach, rud, skimmers and the like. Now I dont course fish as much as I used to but as far as I am aware this method of fishing is not against the law (Im sure I will Be corrected if I am wrong)The point that I am trying to make is unless you are against the whole principle of live baiting, surley where the fish meets its Waterloo is purely accademic allso in some estaurine inviroments I am sure the more brackish water tolerant speicies meet thier end at the hands of some salt water preditors. As for using Gold fish. have seen it done for pike Is by all intents and purposess a killer bait but I think you could be in for a brush with the law dont know that as fact But I seem to recall a incident when some one ended up in court.

  13. Sam

I will give it a go mate in the interest of science and the furthering of our sport Trouble is I dont think ill get em in my tackle box. For the beach and pier I think my beach buddy bag should do it and on the boat Ive taken over the arft rope locker, seeing as it is pretty close to water proof. They get impossable to to lift when wet owing to the large amount of water knitted underware can absorb and I dont seem to be having a lot of luck in convincing my mates to help cant think why.

  14. Have just purchased a new kitchen from Mfi The sink tap that my missus picked is called the Cox Chrome pull out and spray!! Have Mfi developed a sence of humer I ask my self?
