  1. If looking a bit macauline and being good at your chosen sport is contencious Fatima Whitbread for one would have caused a few raised eye brows, let alone a gamault of easten europian discus, hammer and shot competitors, I was watching the championships last night where an official (sp) from the sports governing body said that these maters are delt with discreetly!!

I dont know maybe there is more to this young lady than meets the eye but the the most indiscreet investigation in the history of investigations could have hamperd her chances of a lifetime achivement and was unfair.

  2. Get ready for "Katie and Peter - The Reconcilliation", exclusive in Hello magazine, no doubt Max Clifford has been briefed already.

People can say what they like about her, but she has built up an alleged £30m fortune on the basis of her celebrity and that has to be admired.

Its noted that since they have been married , his only source of income is a magazine column (that apparently is ghost written).

I dont know about her celebrity that built up her fourtune I think it was her couple of build ups that amassed it and they had to be admired or at least Studied for a thoughtfull while:blink:

  3. There must be a few AN members 'on the wagon' then, judging by some of the recent posts.:whistling:

    John.

    [/quote

You might be onto somthing John I havent had a beer since since Christmas :o I am supposed to be losing wieght All thats happend is Im drinking a litre of Coke a night instead My livers ok but my Pancreas is just about to Implode!

  4. Water and Wine

To my friend who enjoys a glass of wine, and those who don't.

    As Ben Franklin said:

    "In wine there is wisdom,

    in beer there is freedom,

    in water there is bacteria."

In a number of carefully controlled trials, scientists have demonstrated that if we drink 1 litre of water each day, at the end of the year we would have absorbed more than 1 kilo of Escherichia coli, (E. coli) - bacteria found in faeces.

In other words, we are consuming 1 kilo of poop.

However, we do NOT run that risk when drinking wine & beer (or tequila, gin, rum, whisky or other liquor), because alcohol has to go through a purification process of boiling, filtering and/or fermenting.

    Remember:

Water = Poop Wine = Health

Therefore, it's better to drink wine and talk stupid, than to drink water and be full of sh!t.

There is no need to thank me for this valuable information:

I'm doing it as a public service.

  5. I think a third party insurance could well be worth while but for a nominal fee and run by the DVLA or post office would be fine

    but pretty hard to enforce.

I think better policing of the standard of cycling should be enforced along with mandatory lights , skid lid and observance of the highway code.

  6. Klienie Browns popularity with the public is on a par with yours on here I rekcon, Why do you keep on trawling the same old shite up time after time? we give money to other countries and good causes some not so good, Do you realy believe if we didnt you would recieve any more or any less

Please mate for the love of God post somthing differnt!

Whats the weather like in Cheltnam. and hows the Mrs?

  7. We should organise a carnivores' pressure group and call it something obtuse like People Eating Tasty Animals.

To qoute the great Homer Simpson If you wernt supposed to eat animals they wouldn't be made of meat! :D

  8. Extreme polerization of political veiws is as damaging to the country as the grey gloop we have now, a bout of seventies

governance is the last thing we need now, whatever side of the fence you sit, although a pull away from the center in the labour party might reinvigerate the party somewhat. I think Niether side has the compleate set of skills needed to turn this country around, a coalition may well be the awnser If your going to have grey you may as well have the best grey on offer.

address unemployment, education, health service, the knock on will be a reduction in crime the use of this countries Best raw Material its poeple, and the proper well earned care of our elderly.

a fundermental very simple set of my old Labour values pushed along by a bit of conservative ruthlessnes.

    It may just work.

  9. No, Ken, that was the London Marathon.

Should have gone to Specsavers :D

    Now that was funny!

Not one soul living in any technological sociaty today hasnt benifited from animal experimtation in one shape or form, and wont benifit in the future. I dont feel fully comfortable with it, but to deny its neccesity would be foolish,

as Ken said Oversight and good legislation is the only awnser.

  10. It was said yesterday that younger people have been hit hardest because they have not had time to build up enough natural immunity to everyday deseases. We all have to eat a peck of dirt during our lifetimes. It gives us natural immunity.

Mexico has always had a reputation for the misuse of antibiotics, so now they have less immunity to ordinary health problems.

Most people who have been infected, have not suffered more than minor symptoms.

MORE ECO-FLAP FROM THE USUAL SUSPECTS!!!!!!

Bird Flu has tried to curb Asian populations. AIDS is possibly suceeding in Africa, whether by design or accident.

The EU told our Government that we had too many cattle for the CAP to sustain. Burial pits were being dug in Devon, the county with the most cows, before the F & M outbreak was identified!!!!!!!!!!

So If Im reading this right all these epidemics may be designed as a form of population control by some sinister organisation trying to control the human population of the planet :g:

Why didn't it occur to me earlier.

It couldn't just be Flu could it? a virus that readily lends its self to mutation thats how it suvives, that is why each year the flu jab is a diferent coctail of flues the one s most likley to emerege as a problem that flu season. we survived SARS we will survive this if we get it we get it and we will deal with it what ever the conseqeunces.

  11. "The Israeli guards fired pistols in the air and used a firehose to repel the outlaws"

Given that the pirates were shooting bullets AT people, I have to wonder why the guards were wasting ammo on the sky and mucking about with fire hoses.

Maybe side arms were thier only weaponary, Showing a will to fight was obviousley enough to deter them. I can see a time when shipping in these areas will go through in Convouy gaurded by UN Gun boats.in fact why dont they do it?

  12. Thanks for the input Newt. I was beginning to get paranoid, thinking this country is the only one targetted. I watched the news yesterday and saw pictures that disturbed me:

In the aftermath of the French decision to close the camp near the Chunnel to stop illegal immigrants getting into England, the inmates rioted waving signs, one of which said "We want our human rights"

I thought France was a member of the EU and was a signature to the humans rights charter!!

I am just sick and tired of this country being used as a meal ticket by those who could earn elswhere!!

The people who earn arnt the problem Its the poeple who don't who are.

  13. Sportsman - If you want to have a personal attack on someone - GET YOUR FACTS RIGHT!!!!!

When I arrived back in this country, It was to full employment. I have worked in this Country for 19 years and paid my NI (plus extra to "catch up" on my pension!) and now receive reduced pension of £64.00 a week!

The tail lift vehicle happens to be a side lift vehicle which I bought for £4,500 second hand with the money I got when I sold my old vehicle, for which I got, would you believe £4500.00!!!!

Unfortunately I had a fall when I was at Barston lakes, and was pressed to have the operation to relieve the pain. I only gave in this year!!

Unfortunately, I cannot help being disabled, it was not something I planned for. If it hadn't been for that I would have deferred my pension until I was 68!!

However, I don't see this country advertising for funds for people like me!!!

I'm not going to get involved in Knocking what you do or don't get , but suffice to say topping up your contributions to pay for your pension is only right (Did you offer to do that or where you told to?), and secondly after 19 years of work in this country I was still a young man less than half way through my working life and only cost the system a few plaster casts and a couple of boxes of Antibiotics. I am grateful to say I have never been out of work (the thought of which truly frightens me) I also have absolutely no problem with being part a country that helps the needy aboard or at home In the latter case your good self sir.

  14. All I am saying is that we have appeal after appeal or GB visits another country and bankrupts this one by giving OUR money away!!! Why must we the public have to bail out these people every time?

Surely the USA or some of the other countries GOVERNMENTS could do it for a change.

The person in the steet (not those in Ivory towers) goes out and works bl00dy hard for his/her money to provide for him/her and family - not to give THEIR hard earned cash to countries we all know are corrupt in the hope that some will get through to the needy. What I am saying is that governments should BUDGET aid grants to other countries - they take enough off us in income tax and stealth taxes as it is!!

Very Christian of you mate Gaud bless ya Guvner :whistling:

Most if not all western nations sponcer/ subsidise the developing world in some way or another they also capitalise on the poor souls who are trying to do there bit for them selves by paying them a pittance whislt shafting you and I over here with what we pay for what they produce.to have the even playing fielsd you crave Klienie would you be prepared to pay top prices for imports from third world countries thus giving the workers of those countries a wage on a par with there western counterparts, this woud alow them to dispence with our aid altogether, baring in mind we as a nation produce sod all so we would have to put up with there demands.

they also have or show little regard for the enviromental impact on the area, two good examples are the Nigerain Delta region and Tradgidey in Bopal in india.

you talk of some of us living in Ivory Towers as if your simplistic views are bolts of brilliance, there are not they are mean spirited. I feel more pieved at sponcering benifit thieves and dole ponces than I do some poor bugger on the sub continant.
