  1. Cory, my heart says yes, my head says no,

It would be lovely to have on programs that would interest them, but I think there are programs that would be of no interest to them at all,

Top of the POPS and last Night at the Proms To name but a few :headhurt::black_eye:

I know that was poor taste sorry guys!

  2. I will say this for the benefit of our poor little friend Rabbit:

How long has "red nose day been going on?

What about all the other charity do's? (Children in need - in case you didn't know, a lot of that goes to Africa as well!)

Let's put a round figure of £70m per year - now times that by 10.......... That means in the last 10 years we, the public (not the organisations, businesses or governments) have given £700m to Africa for "poverty relief". They keep telling us time after time that we are not donating money but housing, schools, food, clothing etc.

    Where are they???

If you notice - they show you pictures of the elderly, children, women, all suffering!!

Where are the men? the ones in their 20s, 30s and even 40s? You don't see them because that's where youir money goes. In Africa the black MAN is king!! Never mind the wife/wives or the picanins. The black man is supposed to provide for them, but why bother, if it is given to them if they work or not!!

I can tell you Where the Black man is Mate he is working overseas hardly seeing his family or Kids he is working Miles away from home hardly seeing his wife or family, he is fighting bush wars that he dosnt understand for bent politictions or he has died of Aids,

You forget with we have one of the the Biggist Hand out culture in the world,In Africa NGOs hardley scratch the surface of whats needed in Africa, I think what needs to be pionted out as well is Red nose day supports British charitys as well I dont think that has been recognised on this thread. ( sorry if it has )

  3. If all the "comedians" and "rock stars" donated money from their vast incomes, we would not need to suffer the cringing self congratulation they trot out during the Comic Relief, or "Live Aid" circus.

Most of the "performers" are indebted to these occasions for kick starting their fading careers.

I doubt they would be too keen to dip too deeply into their own pockets.

Must admit the same thought has crossed my mind,

I would add though Lenny Henry, Bob Geldoff and Midge Ure have both put a lot of there own time and effort into Red Nose day and Live Aid.

  4. The type of young man in that area who would engage in Dog fighting, would almoust certainly be part of a gang, involved in the drug scene, and would probley be armed,

Chalanging these youths could well be the last thing you would ever do.

The armchair warrior in me says break a stick on the biggist of the bunch untill he pi55e5 his self in reality I would have probley got a description and called the police, and hoped they would be descreet and not let any one arrested now it was me that grassed them!

    Thes gangs run estates

The police need to establish a beach head and litteraly flush them out.

  5. FB - You missed the point - IF we have a CITIZEN (someone born here) is not happy and starts running down our defence force etc. then he should be asked why. If he is not happy with this country, he should be "invited" to leave for that country - at least it would be cheaper for the government than charging them with sedition!!

I heard banded about a figure of 800,000 took part in the anti war demonstrations in London, What do we do with them?

  6. I'm gonna need a bigger dictionary to talk on here......... :o

You do just fine ate as you are!

Klienie a young Lad shot I believe eight poeple in Germany the other day, a similar atrocity happend a few days back in the USA a young deputys wife and child was murderd amounst others.

We have had riots mass shootings and social unrest in this country France flaires up every couple of years more often than not.

these incidents are Aborations as were the incidents you refer to in Botswana, wether you choose to agree or not Botswana is held up as a beackon in africa for its democratic values.

Worms you are right mate this one has gone way off course but its interesting.

  7. I know what you are saying Klienie but its not Just apartied Is it? Terrible things whent on in that country dreadfull breaches of Human Rights,Holding up a few instances of Diversity in a at the time universily Villiefied nation I feel is weak, You hold up Zimbabwe as a example of a black mans poor governance I will hold up Botswana as an example of what is possible given time.

  8. IMHO The human Rights Act in this country has only been used by illegal immigrants stating it would be against the act "as they would face certain death or incarceration in their country of birth, or criminals exploiting the decision ie the "slopping out" which cost us, the taxpayer, Millions!!

If there are protestors who were born in this country, they should be given the choice of staying here and shutting up about OUR soldiers or going home!

    BUT.............

The Human Rights Law would not allow the government to do that!!

Again I piont out mate thay are Home!

  9. I would rather a lollipop lady get an MBE than some head in the clouds actor who won an Oscar for doing something that he loves (acting) - and then gets a knighthood!!

    Thats a fair one!

I do think the arts should be recognised though, as should the Sciences.

  10. IMHO this whole situation is CAUSED by the human rights bill.

To be able to stand in a crowd welcoming soldiers with signs calling them butchers and murderers is a sign that they have no respect whatsoever for this country.

I am afraid if they are so against this country, then why don't they LEAVE!!!

If the government wanted to tell them this, these big mouthed antigovernment individuals would IMMEDIATELY cite the human rights bill to force the government to keep them here!!!

They will fight tooth and nail, citing that they will be killed in that country!!! And they attack US!!!

A piont of view that that has some merit IMO, exept I suspect some of those men are as British as me so where will they go?

the Human rights act is in its self not a bad thing, and no more obstructive to the legal system than the American Bill of rights is to Americans. I am sure without having to dig too deep or too hard offences where being commited by that crowd of men. the only problem is they will proberly only be minor public order offences and it will be claimed that it would not be in the public interest to pursue a prosecution.

Maybe just ignoring them is the awnser as they have had more news copy than they diserve already.

  11. I suppose that I will be shot down in flames again - but here is FACT!!

As you all probably know,I lived for many years in South Africa. There were was open drunkeness, NO smashing of bus shelters, no drunken graffiti - and this was down to ONE reason and ONE reason only.

They have a system - if ANYBODY (old or young, male or female) starts misbehaving through alcohol, they are arrested!!

They are put into a cell and allowed to sober up. They are then taken into court the following morning, they are told exactly what they did the night before and asked to plead. (Being drunk and not knowing what you are doing is not a plea)

If they are found guilty, they are sentenced to a caning - right there and then!!

    There are NO drunken escapades!!

Holding up South Africa as a parogon of virtue espeacialy the period that you were there Klienie as a good example of how sound Justice should be dealt out is a bit iffy to say the least.

  12. Surely this kind of acceptance of other people's values and beliefs occurs in other countries? Wouldn't a group of white British christians be able to chant 'burn in hell' to Taliban 'freedom fighters' marching through the streets somewhere in Helmand province without being politely asked to be quiet by the local police force/militia?

Poor chioce of Country, Being tounge in cheek we are doing exactly that in Afgahnistan an act that I support.

the fact that your arguement holds a degree of truth brings up a couple of pionts either we have it wrong or an intollerant backward country has it right.

  13. thats why i changed moslem to asian.difficult to use arab types is pakistan arabic? its where most f our "M"'s come from it seems

if a black guy touched my mrs in a pub and i attacked him outside it would (according to the media highlighting) be a racist (infact colour predudice) attack ,better headlines ,easier to convict apon.(and vice versa)

if the pub was dark so i couldnt see he was black (so it couldnt be a racist /colour punchup) it would be the same outcome

if it were a white bloke it would be just a fight or "misunderstanding" and probably not make the paper at all.

when you mention a colour or race or religion ,it makes better media whether or not it had racist ,colour or religeous overtones behind it at all.

if you want to be specific blame pakistan and saudi arabia ,but you wont get far they are our friends :D

all religions are multicultural ,religion is a choice not a place ,hence i changed moslem to asian to avoid the gripers on here picking on the "M" word :D but the "A" word got picked on instead.

"protests" are in the main the same "types" of people but less scrupulous types get involved for their own agenda it maybe just a punchup or chucking bricks about or the opposite side infiltrating making there adversaries look bad so a "protest" is never with one voice as it were.probably in the mentioned thread only half were using their faith as a sword some may just not like the wests involvement outside the west ,some may want a better deal with the west but they tend to get shouted over by the extremists waving the banners with the loud voices.

it becomes in the press a anti soldier attack not a general anti west attack using soldiers as an excuse to stage it knowing the press will be there

    Im not sure Chesters,

Useing one of the Republican Irish attacks on the British main land as an example, an asian shop keeper was killed I think he was the only non Europian victem, in all that Carnage was his death a racist attack and all the others just boring old Murder, Of course not.

Your example is amusing but wont stand up! If race is a factor in the attack, or is what preciptated the attack then its racialaly motivated,if not it isn't would the black guy who touched your wife be guilty of a racial attack because he touched your white wife ? ( I have made the assumption that your wife is white)

the whole piont of a protest is an agenda! if not all you would have is a group of poeple turning up shouting and screaming achieving nothing then going home A bit like Tottenham fans :D

  14. note i should have used asians not moslems as you say ,the result would be the same though ,in the eyes of the law asians automatically become moslems to simplify charges ,its easier to prosecute on a "hate" law than just a disagreement.the asians cant be procecuted using hate laws

I think I understand most of that Mate  I dont however agree with the above.

Islam is multi racial in fact a lot of hard core clerics and activists would seem to be Middle easten,

or converts from the west black and white.

  15. since the EU now set 75% of UK laws perhaps were only 25% free :D probably far less could a group of people harrang a group of moslems ,probably not

    Not for being Muslem no!

seems odd that its ok if you are a soldier though.

  16. Freedom of speach is important Vital in fact,

But would those Islamic Demonstrators been as free to evoke that right if they knew the police where not willing or able to protect them from the huge percentage of poeple who where glad and proud to see our Brave troups parade through the streets on thier home coming parade.

I think not! I also worry that these Poeple will play into the hands of the far rightwing (and the Daily Mail ;))

Should they have been alowed to do what they did? I thought I was almost an incitement for public disorder.

    What do you think?
