However, I did find your question as to whether they’d been released slightly disingenuous, as having spoken to the bloke on the gate at the car park, you obviously already knew they hadn’t. Perhaps you were hoping to prove me a liar as well?
No the guy just tod me you had had 2 fish > i did not ask him if you were carrying dead fish.
You said a couple of times thet you lose interest once you have caught fish for the pot. , a statement that i did find strange Well if thats the case then you had best look for a different hobby and buy farmed sustainable fish from Tesos.
My mistake for not asking if you catch and release. You live and learn

I share a special place and you kill every fish you catch.Im a ****ing idiot!!!!!!
3 out of 3 . my ratios 170 /0 this season If you kill them they cant breed and they wont be back. Its bad enough that it goes on around me but helping a you to catch and kill bass that have not even bred yet Im a ****ing fool.
I fished with a great bunch of guys from this foum this year we had a great time and had great fish and all were released.
Sorry your a nice guy but greedy and I regret taking you fishing
I learned a few lessons this weekend too

Fished Saturday with Kevin, took him to a few marks I suspected would have a fish. Fished plugs for bass. No manicles ,too windy.
I had 6 all were 2 1/2 to 3 Lb (all returned)
Kev had 1 , the fish was less fortunate ,(it was his first) . I understand he had 2 from the same area today prior to our arrival so hopefully they swam away?
I took a guest to the same marks one hour behind kevin and had sweet FA which was an unwelcome surprise. He did have a 3 1/2 lb + pollack on a shallow diver in 20 foot of water which was rather a welcome surprise

Could somebody recommend where I can see a Witches Tit
They are hard to spot dur to thier size . But may I suggest a trip to South East Asia as It was apparant to me that ''girls dancing on Pat Pong rd had rather small mermalian protruberences. This would make an excellent starting point for a quest to find a flat witches tit.
By the way Kev and I missed each other today. Communication breakdown. I have left a message so hopefully we can go for a paddle tommorow

Were meeting up
Manicles bass hide were coming to get ya. (provided its flat as a witches tit that is!)

Im still in breathables but I just cant get my head aroud what to wear. with the bib and brace can the water get up your legs from the bottom. The same as wearing normal trousers or is there a seal? What do you wear under the trousers ?I'm thinking of getting a pair of breathable chest waders, to keep the tootsies warm and dry when the weather's a bit colder. My main concern is that, in the event of a dunking, they fill with water and become a liability.
However, in principle they seem similar to the waterproof salopettes that come with latex ankle seals.....if the ankle seals are doing their job properly then most, if not all, of the water entering the salopettes from the chest area would be retained, giving much the same effect as the waders.
So, before investing, I was wondering if anyone else has tried them or if anyone has any learned advice to give as regards the cons for chest waders ?
Thanks.

6 bloody years Ive been here and I live 15 yards from the sea and Ive never seen a basking shark you lucky bugger. Perhaps next time we can meet up. Theres a rather well known commercial bassing mark a very short paddle from that ramp. Im keen to have a try at it sometime.

Hi Oz!
That's very decent of you....
I ordered a Tarpon 140 last Tuesday and they said it would be a fortnight, so hopefully by this time next week I should be sorted out. I can't do much before the schools break up anyway, but your offer is much appreciated. Perhaps I'll bring mine over later in the year?
Cheers
Steve
No worries

Hi Gilbo!
I replied in my own 'I am a Newbie' thread, but thought it would do no harm to answer here as well. Especially as I can't PM at the moment...
I am based in St. Austell and am blessed wit dozens of access points all within a 20 mile drive.
I haven't even had my Yak delivered yet but.....I am assured it will be here before the schools break up so 'fingers crossed'..
If you fancy a paddle about give me a buzz. I have a scupper and a prowler. Based nr Helston. HAppy to lend you one

We call the mode you are in, Kid mode, It keep’s the kids happy on the boat.
turn it of fish id and try to read the arches , you are looking for an arch with a solid center and faint edges they are hard to read but after 2/3 years you will get used to it
john
Cheers
I will deactivate child mode and look for boomerangs so to speak

Ok couple of questions
I have fitted an eagle 240 to the yak. I set the fish ID to on. You get 3 sizes of fish on the display. What would you say they regard as big -med -small. Ive had a load of small fish and mediums come up and seen nothing more than a few sandeel under the yak. I would expect being American that a big fish would be a BIG fish. But I had a load of Big icons on screen and caught 2-3 lb fish straight after. Is there a standard configuration for these finders or is my eagle turning tiddlers into lunkers?
Question 2
Obviously the display scrolls so if you see 4 big fish in a row at say 10 foot depth is that really 4 fish or is it the same fish showing up 4 times#
Cheers

Thanks for helping out everyone, but I've gone to an auto bodyshop in the end. Cut a hole and got a new hatch so they had a patch to do it with, and its now sorted for £37... still not bad, £80 for a fixed yak, paddles and buoyancy aids! We are taking her out at the start of next week so Ill try and get some photos.
It is a Perception Freedom 2 - it says on it!
Cheerio, happy paddling
looks like theres another 16 holes that need fixing up to me

been sniffing i aint figured out what weight to get
how does the weight of the line affect the action of the rod in casting etc i mean if i go 9 line 8 rod to 8 line 9 rod as some say 8/9 etc
i seen this web site seems good are the prices up to date?
I say overline for kayak fishing ive been fishing an 8# line on a 7 # rod and it suits the situation. This may slow the rod down but you will be casting downwind from a yak so the larger loop will not be an issue. It also means there will be less effort in loading the rod and you wont need to arialise so much of the head of the line to load the road up ready to shoot.
Good luck

Starvin is right, i do have one fitted. I bought one for the same conditions that you have experienced. I have been using it for about a year and wouldnt be without it now, in fact all four of us now use them. I cant see a disadvantage (apart from the price) to having one as they retract easily in the shallows but make life a lot easier in a cross wind and come into their own on the longer trips in these conditions.
They are fitted easily and on my prowler i managed to avoid cutting any access holes in the yak and avoided using the large hole cover that is supplied with the kit.The instructions are crap but better ones can be found on the OK website. If you would like more info or some pics of the fitted rudder then let me know.
Add that to he never ending list then!

Have any of you guys fitted one ? would it be worth bothering with the p13 hull shape. I paddled across the tide and sideways to the swell for a couple of miles last night and found myself sloshing around a bit and losing direction.
Cheers

Give me a buzz when you get down to HAyle There are plenty of safe Yakking locations close by . I was taking a long hard look at one on the North Shore this evening. Im happy to help out on the proviso that fishing s 100 % Catch and release.
