  1. Now to alot of people this will seem like a very stupid question, but were all beginners once! I am slighty unsure how to set my bobbins on my bite alarm up correctly, at the moment the line is very very tight, should it be like this? 4. I use one and it took me a while to actually find a shop that sells them. However it is easy enough to make one yourself just take a large pike float for instance, and you can easily attach a method feeder to the bottom. I've never caught a carp on one but have other species, they generally self hook too!
  5. as far as I know, drill them and place onto your hair rig and position with a boilie stop.

  14. it amazes me how people are always going on about how they need new younger people in the fishing scene. Yet when you try and fish your own way (bait boat) you end up getting told to learn to cast!
  15. randal, what sort of bad reports have u heard about the badger?
  16. Is 15lb breaking strain line too heavy for carping? would it be affecting my chances at catching?
  17. I am seriously considering getting one because, all of the really good spots were I fish are too far to be able to cast. Has anyone come accross the badger bait boat? I like the look of it as I do not want to spend the earth!

  21. thanks for the welcome guys! ive been looking for a place like this for ages? Yes i will post some pictures if i do catch! 5 ounce with no shockleader? thats a big weight, didnt even use that much for sea fishing!
  22. I normally cast to an ideal only about 70-80 feet infront of me, so it is of no great distance. So alot of force on the cast is not really needed, and I have had no breaks. Thanks for the advice! Im going fishing tomorrow for the full day, so hopefully might have some luck!
  23. Hi i am new to the carp scene, i am 17 years old and have only caught one carp and that was on the float! I have just started using a wychwood rouge 2.75tc rod, with rouge reel and 15lb fox line. I have been using a direct inline 2ounce lead, with about 8 inches of hooklength and a pop up. Should I be using a shock leader?
