It sounds like it's related to the population where you fish. If there's plenty of them about you are used to them. If like some areas you hardly ever see them it may put you off.
There's one thing for sure you're both there for the same reason, could that be on the plus side?
The next time one pops his head up and the wind backs round to an Easterly think positive!

Hi everybody,
When out fishing and a seal pops it's head up most of the anglers that I know reckon you may as well go home. What do you guys think, fact or fiction.

Iv'e had a Flounder on a three hook 2/0 rig. Two up one down with all three hooks in his gob. poor b****r must have been starving.Back in those days you would get a little nod on the rod tip and think one, a few minutes later the same again and think two, same again and think full house.WRONG!!

I think I can remember a article in Sea Angler a few years back on how to get crabs to peel. It recomended you poke their eye out, they said it never failed.
