Is it gonna affect Brid Pier anglers, myself included when the project starts?

Had a interesting fish finding trip out of Hartlepool on Friday with Sam Harris ( Newcastle Evening Chron.)and Alan
I had a new species for me a Cuckoo ray.
Lovely little fish which was released immediately unharmed after photo.
Anybody else caught one in the North Sea.
What size do they grow to and any other info would be welcome
Well done Ivan
Another specie for your impressive bag.

Keep the video coming Alan. The sea looked a bit rough this time.
You will experiment fishing long distant wrecks off Whitby soon, won't you?

I took my mates John and Lofty out yesterday to a group of wrecks called 'the graveyard' about 50 miles from Hartlepool. Ivan was on a course nearby so he came out for a ride with us and ended up driving the boat
The video has been stuck in the youtube process all day so I uploaded it here til it clears.

Hi Alan
Please book Dennis and his 2 friends on this trip, I'll be in touch regarding deposit via a phone

Hi poogong,
If the boat isn't fully booked the anglers will get a full refund or the option of downgrading the trip to something less expensive. If say only 9 wanted to fish this day we could charge the boat out for a bronze trip (£475) with 9 fishing for £53 each. There would be a lot more room as well.
Alan
Thanks Alan, I'll pass it to Dennis.

We have an angling party wishing to book a gold trip on Sat 18th April. They are 4/5 in number and would like other anglers to make up 12 in total to minimise costs. If anyone is interested in making up the numbers please pm me. The cost would work out at about £54 per angler for a 12 hour trip fishing wrecks up to 55 miles from Whitby.

Alan
A friend of mine and his two friends are interested in the trip but just worried a little bit about the cost if the boat is not fully booked. So he said if the party needs a few more people, can you please contact Dennis on 07878472262.

Would love to go Alan but seems that I'll have to work that weekend. It looks like a neap tide as well, doesn't it?

How long is it before your website up and running?

Hello poogong,
Our new website will have a forum on it where anglers can contact other anglers to form groups and fish specific dates and split the cost. I don't know of any other charter boat website that has done this - but I may be corrected.
The swiftcat is a unique ride, and very comfortable. It will be interesting to hear your views on your seasickness problem if you take a trip with us. We can hydraulically trim the stern drives to any angle to suit any conditions. The boat is so easy to drive that we will encourage responsible anglers to take the helm even at +20 knots.
You are correct, it was me who gave you advice in 2005. I can be found on various forums in different guises.
Best regards,
Alan
Thanks Alan. I'll definitely go out with your boat this spring or summer. Please let us know when your website up and running.

Impressive boat Alan. I will certainly have a trip with your boat this year (if I and other anglers can gather enough individuals). I normally fish from Whitby boats at least half a dozen times a year with various boats but lately due to poor weather and my increasing seasickness problem I fish less and less.
By the way are you the same Alan, aka wildercard, that gave me some advice in WSF Forum on Whitby boat fishing when I was a newbie in 2005? If so, I look forward to meeting you on your boat one day.
All the best for your new boat.

me and my mate went boat fishing last summer from h.pool, been on same boat for over 12 yrs or so, anyway i,ll cut to the chase, skipper got new boat etc you know the score. but thing was skipper was not on board instead he had 3 of his mates skipper the boat that day,
what crap it was i,m not saying we did not catch cause we did but far too many. every drop it was mackral 6 at a time, did not matter what hook size etc they were still getting dragged on board, boatman in charge said go to other side of boat to fish, i was bewilldered why? that would have made no difference, i put on a 8/0 hook but still the same, in the end before i packed in fishing (which i,d had enough by this time as enough is enough) i started shaking my rod to get them back in the sea alive.
in the end i had enough of the mass slaughter as there was 2 other guys sharing our fish tray, there must have been over 200 fish maybe more, so me and my mate took what we wanted which was around 20 each, only to be told by skipper if i did not take any more then there were going over the side of boat, so in end i took what i could carry non got wasted as gave some to brother who fishes all winter rest to family and friends,
but the bottom line was i felt sick at home thinking all thatr waste of fish, would it have been any better going further out? our lass said i cant win cause i moan when i dont catch, but i,d sooner have a day out fishing and blank and enjoyed myself rather than 6 at a time, i,m no longer going on same boat as there must have been something skipper could have done like move further offshore i could be wrong though
What boat was that mate?

John E, Zziplexboy, Norm B, thank heavens. I am not alone.
Count me in as well John.

seeing everyone is confessing to murdering fish i would like to clear my concience by stating that on monday while fishing from my boat off dunbar on the east coast of scotland myself and my mate tony killed:
18 cod biggest 13.5lb smallest 2lb,
3 ling about 5-6lb
12 coalies for skate bait
androughly 100 mackerel which is our winter bait stock
all were above MSL
i did return a 7.5lb pollack alive
none of these fish will be wasted
BTW i don't really feel guilty about killing them
les
Good catch les.
regards

Please keep your catch reports coming in Glen. There are not many of them as you know.

Well said Glen and JB. comment removed. Newt. They themselves should go to the caves for harming the fish unnecessarily No wonder, few people are willing to post catch reports in this forum.
Please avoid comments that contain vague generalizations bashing many other forum members. Newt

Just looked on metcheck for the outlook for next week and they are giving northerlys again with snow predicted winters on its way back again .
Have you been out fishing recently big cod? Next week is Whitby festival, I hope the weather is not too poor so you and other boats can go out fishing.
-
I hope tomorrow weather in Whitby is gonna be good. Hope to do some boat fishing for cod if I can. Many weather websites say it's gonna be poor to average for fishing in Whitby tomorrow
-
Hi, rob 1st-14th april mate £1000 up for grabs for the biggest .
Big cod
Any idea how much chance for a chartered boat to go out this Sunday? There is a strong wind right now in Leeds. Looking at the weather forecast for this Sunday, wind is to be around 12 mph. Is it fishable for either uptide or wrecking? And would you go out this Sunday?
Many thanks

Sea fishing in Thailand
in Sea Fishing
Posted
The deep sea fishing season in Thailand (3-4 days trip out to Andaman Sea) starts October - May. Now it is a monsoon very few boats venture out very far. It normally costs around £150-£200 for a trip to Similan Islands. To really target the big game fish such as big tuna, big grouper, Snapper, you need to fish the Burmese Indian Ocean (Burma Bank). This typical trip will cost you around £400 -£450 for 5-6 day trip. It sounds expensive but fishing in Thailand will include 3 meals most days plus snacks and soft drinks although people usually bring their own beer and whiskey
If you stay in Krabi, the nearest good fishing port will be Tub Lamu, Pang- nga province north of Krabi. I am sure there are good boats in nearby Phuket but Thai people including me tend to go out from this har bour or the one further up north at Ranong province.
Here are popular boats with good skippers:
Polaris - sails form Ranong, Tel: (09 ) - 289-9159 http://www.siamfishing.com/content/view.ph...03&cat=trip
Tai Leu - sails from Tub Lamu, Pang nga, Tel: (076) 443-068 http://www.siamfishing.com/content/view.ph...06&cat=trip
Fishing from shore around Krabi (I have no experiance here) I guess people then to use strips of squid, or small prawns to target palm-size reef, rock fish which there are plenty around resorts.
If you go in a few weeks time, one-day in shore fishing should be available on most resorts but I have no experience to suggest any particular boats.
Hope this helps
