  1. Stavey, I think that was a rumour. I didn't hear of any nets anywhere. There were certainly none by the harbour. Got to fish it to try and retain my crown!
  2. Ginger Horror is well into his poker (playing cards, that is!) and carp fishing. Think it is working out with him and Donut; seams happy enough. What did your stroll along the beach reveal? Any cod in the nets? D
  3. Stavey, I am fishing Hastings on Sunday..South Coast Beach Champs Open...a storm is just what that match needs as it is always gin clear when I fish it!
  4. B*llocks! I was going black lug digging on Wednesday!
  5. Graeme!! I had a sneaky suspicion before you posted that last message that it might have been you!! Caught any "Sticks" lately?! Any decent mullet this year? P.S. What a friendly forum!
  6. Stavey, I thought that kind of netting wasn't allowed anymore? We have pair trawlers from march til october. Not so many this year though.
  7. Stavey, I used to fish the National Sea League pegged at Pevensey. Since its' demise, I haven't fished pevensey for a couple of years. Is high up on my list of fave venues despite the fewer fish. Still has its' moments though. Thanks for the invite. I may well take you up on it. Let me know when a few plumper whiting arrive and we'll sort something out. Damo
  8. I think the fishing declined when the marina was built. It altered the tidal flow and now many of the marks we both used to fish aren't a shadow of what they used to be...no tide and no fish. Smothounds have become very widespread in recent years. I hear some guy had a 15lber this summer at Pevensey? Unfortunately, the spider crabs failed to come in close to the beach to peel this year along my stretch and, as a consequence, neither did the hounds! :-( Stavey, you from Pevensey then? You know all the local match guys?
  9. Ollie, thanks for that. I noticed as soon as I sent it for uploading that it was too big (the pic, not the bass!) Thanks, Stavy. No. Put it back alive. Swam off along the surface then vanished. Probably turn up in a trawl net in a couple of days! Ollie, another bass on the pier today. Weighed it for the guy. Went 6lb 5oz. Caught on a mackeral head. I had an hour on the stage in the well with a fillet and a head but no takes. Had a couple of gars though to save the blank!!
  10. Starlights or lumi beads work for flounder at night in clear water.
  11. Ollie, click the link on the previous post of mine....should be there!
  12. Hi mate, I used to fish Pevensey Bay all the time in the winter months. Down towards Billys Tower used to be a favoured spot for a good mix of codling, whiting, pouts etc. Maybe it is a bit early in the autumn? Needs to be quite well cloured aswell. Never mind, better luck in twelve months time then!
  13. Oops! That didn't work! This should, though!! http://www.go-fishing.org/upload/files/IMAG0120.JPG
  14. This is the bass I caught at East Preston on Thursday evening. 11lb 8oz. ]
  15. Yep, I know who you are. You done much lately? Thanks for the link....I will give it ago. Does David go online at all?
  16. Thanks mate. Just trying to remember which one of the lads you are!! Back to the picture, I can't copy and paste it into the message reply square. The paste "button" cannot be used. Any ideas as to how to get the pic on here?
  17. Hi Guys, My first post here. Firstly, I can confirm the cod off Worthing pier was caught a couple of weeks ago and weighed 8lb 8oz. Gars were being caught at the same time!! Bait was lug fished by the arcade. Secondly, there was a bass caught at East Preston on Thursday night. It weighed 11lb 8oz. It was a beauty! I caught it!!! I don't know how to post pictures but when I find out how to, I will stick one on the site. Thirdly, how many of you people know each other?? I bet I know some of the guys on this thread!
