  1. For the past 5 to 6 months i've been extremly busy with college to have the time to finish what I started but as it is winter and the time which I would of used for major fishing I can use to continue to Build a bait boat from scratch.

To those of you who have joined AnglersNet any time after about june 06 will probably not have seen the start of this thread so it is HERE for you to get up to date.

As for what i'm in the prosses of doing at the moment towards the baitboat is purchasing all the electrics which are needed and I will list them as I purchase them for those who are interested.

  2. I will try to get hold af some styrofoam suppliers names and addresses for you, as we use it at work for modelling new machines etc.

    Phill.

Well it would be great if you could get some pupplier names for those who are following this forum. I am sure i can get some through college so it will be dirt cheep. Also I will find out were D+T get there maerials from ASAP.

  3. I take it you are suggesting a twin hopper design also?

Quite right a boat of its size would have to hoppers. I guess this design will probalby in total carry 3 kilos of e.g pellets but that is a rough estimate.

What materials do you intend to construct the boat from?

I will start by using some cheep 5mm thick ply wood overlaying it with fibre glass. Probalbly. And to get the curve at the front and back i will use ply wood and fill the front with polystyrine sheet and sand it to the required shape then plaster it lightly then sand again and then coating it in fiber glass.

Have you any ball park figures of an approximate cost for your design yet?

Not quite I think in total it will cost around £150 but thats including transmitter and reciever which is where the money will go.

I assume it will be markedly cheaper than any shop bought or redeveloped commercially available boat.

Well I think if this design of boat was retailed with dual hopper and twin motor it would probably cost from £600 - £1000 so i would say it is quite cheaper than retail.

Hope this has answered your questions sufficiently

  4. Atfer many concept ideas I have finally drawn up what I feel will be the choosen design. Now atfer drawing it I could'nt scan it in as it was on A3 paper but I have used a simple microsoft program to recreate the drawing.

I would most appretiate if you could add your opinions. And i will get onto drawing up a technical drawing taking into account size of boat to size of electronics etc.

  5. Screw holes?? it will sink!!!

I was using that as an expresion.

Excellent, looking forward to it. How much do you plan on spending? and will you advise wher we can source materials and components?

Yes of course I will provide all information as I get it.

  6. On you go matey, I'll be watching with interest. If all goes to plan, why not go into business and make them to order?????

I would not have the time to make and sell them I'm at college during the week. (USING COLLEGE COMPUTER AT THE MOMENT)And I work at the weekend to earn fishing spending money. I just want to help people who are not sure what to do. So i will post each step e.g. screw into this screw hole. To make it simple for those who interested.

  7. I've come to the conclusion that the only way i'm going to get a bait boat for less than £300 is if I build my own from scratch. So over the next 3-4 months I will post my success or failure of every part from designing to building to taking it on to the water.

Any one who is intested i will post all diagrams and details on how to do this so you can follow from step to step until finally creating your own bait boat.

Its all well and good buying a bait boat and using it. But you will feel on top of the world if you built the boat which help you catch your personal best.

I'm going to start by drawing up some concept ideas and if you feel up to a chalange then draw up some of your ideas and post them.

  9. Good system & great price. Needs more memory though and I wouldn't try to run that beast with less than 1Gb with 2Gb being a really comfortable amount. Can you upgrade at below the price available from a direct memory buy from someone?

Based on the listing, a buyer will need a monitor though.

This spec has been put together to suite the processor (1.8ghz) But anyone who whats to change certain things such as memory can email me and i will change that for that individual. Iv'e just done this to keep the price down same for not including a monitor. This computer has been listed for anyone who wants to upgrade there system. But as ive said anyone who would like to add/change/remove items from the spec can do so and email me and i will reply as soon as posible which a price.

Are you selling for £319.99 or £400?

Well as listed on ebay the starting bid is £319.99 and the BIN Price is £400 but anyone who would like this spec computer can email me and i will sell it for £319.99 also other spec computers are available. Well to be honest any spec computer is available if you interestet just send me an email with your desired specification.

However, the listing needs amending since he shows IE & OE as being part of his additional software when in fact, both are part of the OS and does not show Outlook which is a standard part of every MS Office version I'm familiar with.

Yes sorry i will have to amend the listing when installing XP Pro it does come pre installed IE and OE but what i ment to put on is that My software includes IE 2003 and OE 2003.

Anyone who is interested please do email me and include the following:

    custom-computers@hotmail.co.uk

    Processor,

    Size of Ram,

    Hard Drive,

    Graphics Card,

    Optical Drives,

Colour of the unit (will determin colour of mouse keyboard optical drives,

Any specific tower and place you would find it,

Thank you everyone who has looked so far and please continue to add your own thoughts.

  10. I'm selling this computer on ebay for £319.99 which is a complete bargain if you price up the specification

    AMD Athlon 64 3000+ £120

AMD Motherboard (No Cheap Crap) £50

    512mb RAM £25

    160gb Hard Drive £60

    Mice + Keyboard £10

    TOTAL £475+

And all this for £319.99 Plus it is all built so you dont have to do any of the work. Similar items are being sold but do not include OS or starter software so is pretty useless.

  11. I dont know about the hengelsport box but Badger do a good quality seat box which is reasonabbly priced. If your going for something expensive to show off i would'nt bother with badger but badgers boxex are cheap and cheerful. Hope you look on this site and something takes your fancy. Hope this helps.

  12. So Dav3 have you been any more ,have you caught much and more importantly have you learned any thing from the fishing or this thread or seen the point we were trying to make?

I went last Sunday for a night and had two pike during the night one 19lb 11 ounces and the other 20lb 4 ounces. Both nice fish. I'm affraid I have no pictures because the camara I took had dead battries and it uses those l-ion battries so I could noy buy any replacements. Couldnt sleep in the day so was completed shattered monday. -_- .

Anyways cheers for the advice it was great help.

  13. Well i will be fishing no further than 100 yards, Carp upto 30lb, Large amounts of weed but will continue to use lead clips, Not that snaggy. Also just to be pickey i would prefer if the rod was either 11' or 3 sections.

  14. I think its about time I update parts of my tackle and seeing as i am nearing away from general course fishing and heading towards carp fishing I wondered if any one could advise me of any good quality carp rods. I'm looking to set a budget of arond £80 per rod but if the rods are abit over but well worth the money it dosn't really matter.

    Thanks in advance

  15. But in fairness I was a bit waspish to Dav3, perhaps he will accept my apologies for that.

There is no need to apoligise every pice of information which is given to me I take with both hands and incorparate it into my fishing. Your Info is much apretiated.

  16. Some of the authors and article writers may become known to you over a period of time and one of them is .........................................lets see if I can remember...........................................oh yes, Ive got it now, its Peter Waller

I did not say that Peter has no good advice to give. I said if he dosn't want to give it he shouldn't start slagging people off.

  17. Well according to my maths thats about a fishing trip every two and a half days, would that be right?

I went pretty much every day for a fortnight just to get a feel for pike fishing before I went with some mates. Because i dont want to make a pratt of myself.

Try not to be too dismissive when people offer free advice that you sought originally as it only leads to a reluctance to help you again when next you're stuck and need advice

I've not said that I dont appriatiate your help because I do. Thanks alot for all your tips they will be a great help.

And for you peter if you havn't got any information on pike fishing then keep it quite and just read the posts.

    THANK YOU

  18. New piker+multiple rods + night = disaster.

As you can probably tell I started this poll at the end of December. Tis now nearly the end of January over the period of a month I have been down to the waters a dozen times so you could say I have learnt to walk and here i go for the running. This Sat - Sun to be precise.

  19. Are you using lures or bait?

If you're using lures here are some video clips that might help you out. They're from Canada but the principles will work on Pike anywhere.

    Cheers,

I was thinking about using three rods out on dead bait over 4-5 nights. Also lure fishing during most of the day and the first sign of sun set.
