  1. I purchased two of each size and I always carry one with me to suit species. When unhooking fish like rays and the woofer family with tough mouths I have found them great for gripping the hook on or near the bend and applying pressure to release the hook without bringing my fingers in close contact with the pointy bit. I still have one of each size but some have been borrowed :lol::lol:

Looks very interesting, I could probably make a guess, looking at it, but what's the technique exactly?

I would definitely like to have one in my box for the doggies.

  2. how much comfier is it than the standard OK seat?

Way,way, way more comfortable. I've had one for 6 months or so and can't remember what a wet, cold or numb bum is. Great back support too. Only down side is the clips are cr&p, so save your OK ones and swap them over. I also found the plastic buckles slipped a bit (dunno if anyone else has that problem though) so I sewed them in place - minor niggle. At that price it'll probably become a very popular seat.

  3. Ask any mechanic and they will tell you that supermarket fuel is inferior and a false economy. If we're going to boycott anyone it should be Tesco/Sainsburys. Might keep a few small shops in business as well.

  4. Never heard of them. I'll disable the free links you've pasted in there, just for good measure, too!

According to the email, they've got your details from a soccer site. Are you a member of that?

Nope (at least not to my knowledge) I have no idea how they got my details.

I can understand why you moved this, but don't you think it's worth a mention on the forums? I know I never read this one and if it is a dodgy scam, it'd be a shame for people not to know about it. Is there any way someone can access my email address by coming on here?

  5. Just received a spam email today(see below) from someone who has obviously been collecting usernames from forums to put together his promotion/scam. This is not the only forum I use this username on, so it could have been picked up elsewhere. Obviously, I didn't respond or click any links.

I'd advise extreme caution, if anyone else receives a similar email

Elton. I'd like to know if there is any affiliation between this forum and the web site in question.

    Hello paintfly,

htt.p://b0o.com just finished merging the soccer-art.co.uk database with its own. All your posts and threads will remain intac at b0o.com, username and password will be the same as well.

We are going to focus heavily on football graphics (signatures, wallpapers etc.), football manager (pc, xbox and psp versions) and general footie banter (premiership, championship, international etc.), if you have any suggestions or comments then feel free to shoot me a PM.

b0o is also looking for a team of staff, if interested send me a PM on the forums.

    PS. We are not soccer-art.co.uk!

    Thanks for reading,

  6. I've done without so far  probably because big buoys (oh-err) or weak tide

Agree - detachment never happens. I have a crabs at each end of my bungy, one clipped to the other and the other clipped to the trolley crab, so both are above the water line. I've never come loose from even the smallest buoy, not even at slack water where, conceivably, you might drift backward and the loop come off the buoy, but then it wouldn't be a problem anyway. Even the weakest flow keeps the bungy loop taught and virtually impossible to slip over the buoy.

  7. Thanks for your replies, looks like I will have to save harder and buy one in the UK ! Will have to make do with some quiksilver t shirts then !! Thanks again Martin.

Good move. Just want to reiterate the potential problems you could be setting yourself up for if you buy from the US. FF's take a hell of a lot of abuse on a yak and I reckon the 2 yr warranty is easily worth the extra you pay in the UK. I can't go into details, as J.O. have specifically asked me not to, but basically, I made the mistake of buying what seemed like a bargain and when things turned ugly Johnsons made all my problems disappear when they didn't have to and for no charge. If you haven't realised what a helpful and supportive company they are, both to individuals and our sport in general, you haven't been paying attention.

  8. Guys,

I've moved into a little town called Biggar in South Lanarkshire.

Locals shouldn't be a prob as i am Scottish! Just been out of the country for the last 15 years or so.

I know Biggar, I've flown at Tinto, to the West, on my hang glider. Looks like you're nice and centrally placed for both coasts. Should be plenty of good fishing for you.

  9. Can anybody make a positive ID for this bream I caught at Eastbourne Ledge on Monday?

    GoldenBream.jpg

I was thinking maybe a Golden Bream, it had distinctly yellow stripes, but I've been told they're not a native species. It's certainly looks like a different species to the common black bream I caught earlier.

  10. Well, i've finally made it and moved from Essex to Scotland. That'll be despite the house initially failing to get a habitation order and the removal truck engine siezing on the M6!

A week spent in travellodges makes you appreciate your own bed so much.

Anyway, now that i'm here - is there any sites on the south west coast of Scotland worth a visit at the mo?

:whistling::roll1: (tumbleweed rolls across to the sound of the wind whistling)

Looks like you might be a pioneer in the area SG. :D Looking forward to hearing how you get on with your discoveries

  11. Launched from bracelet bay with rob in our 2 man kayak into flat calm water and paddled round to langland, trolling rapala's on the way.this produced a pollack of about a pound that i did'nt know i had on until we stopped.Tied off to a bouy by the reef in langland bay and jigged with baited feathers resulting in 2 decent sized trigger fish which i swear towed us,they certainly made us rock  .Only our 2nd time out, great fun, nice 3 1/2 hrs of sunshine and calm water,a couple of mental triggers, and sore shoulders from paddling.....:D

Gonna do it again on saturday :o:D

Nice one mate  Fancy a trigger myself. How did it go on Sat and what about a few photos next time?

  13. It's one of those boats that ABSOLUTELY loves the little sailing boats when they organise a race start right in the middle of the channel in the Medway. Got a perfect range on the deckwash for "alerting" the rag and stick brigade. If they are close enough for the deckwash - they are close enough !

Speaks volumes, to me, about your character. All your back peddling and attempts to ingratiate yourself on this forum doesn't wash with me. Hope I never meet you out on the water (and that means exactly what it says)

  14. You lucky so and so you must have got the last one !! it is now showing as sold out :schmoll:

The aussie listed one has ended too and the seller has no more listings !!

Oh well the search continues :wallbash:

Crazy Creek SOT3 is also worth considering

Edit: Just checked out the website and it too appears to be out of stock, but they do have the top of the range "air" model for $112. HOWEVER, also found this link where both models are on sale for what seems to be ridiculously low prices, dunno if they've gone into liquidation or what, but If I were you I'd snap one up; they are a very comfy seat, easily comparable to the Apex 1

  15. yes it will be fitted with two motors one 54lb electric and a 4hp petrol. can you stand up in kayaks?

if not the 252 suits me more as ill be able to fish with lures more efficiently

I asked about them as no doubt most of you seem quite serious about fishing from kayaks and just wondered if you had or knew of anyone who had tried these things

Some of the wider kayaks are stable enough to stand up on, but as far as I know, most kayak fly fishermen don't feel the need to.

  16. I saw loads of Bics in Pembrokeshire too. Personally I do not find the design pleasing to the eye.

    :offtopic::busted_cop::nono:

Guys this is a thread about a Bic boat/dinghy. The yak debate has been done to death and is now very boring. Please either make the posts MUCH funnier or let it lie

  17. Sorry i know that they are not kayaks but do any of you have one of these or any feed back on them it will be purely for pike fishing and storage problems prevent me from having a proper boat

    http://www.bicsportboats.com/

am more interested in the larger 252 but may consider the sportyak if any one thinks they're worth it

Only possible advantage I can see is if you definitely want to use an outboard; some people have trolling motors on their yaks, but it may be easier to fit an engine on one of these. Otherwise, forget it, a yak is infinitely more versatile and efficient in every department. Don't think you'll get much positive response on a kayak forum :schmoll:
