  1. Then unless there is a major bug in the program I don't think you can have caught one over 46lb mate. The fish in the game were (at time of release) all based on real fish present in the real lake. The biggest is just under 40lb and their weight can vary by 1 pound each time you run the game.
  2. If you caught one that big then you are playing a very old version of my game. The most recent version is based on Bury Hill - do you have that one?
  3. Thanks for your kind words!
  4. There are now some more pics of the demo of my next game (3DCARP2) on my website, hit the 3DCARP2 link on the main page.
  5. The lake record is just under 40lb.
  6. Asc said "could you please try to make for it a simple update/patch that releases the mouse pointer". Sorry mate but I can't. What happens is this - if I release the mouse pointer and you then click on another window or your desktop the game crashes! To be honest I'm not sure why and have tried many times to fix it. When it crashes you get an error message saying "Unable to reset the 3D device" - I have no idea what that means!!!!
  7. I have removed windowed mode for this reason - the new game uses a lot more computer power and there simply won't be any power left to run other programmes, it will require all available power to ensure a decent frame rate. I may decide to include a windowed version for more powerful computers.
  8. Just to let you all know – I am very close to finishing the demo of 3DCARP2 but have been delayed by various personal problems, the worst of which is a divorce ! I’ll keep you informed but I really am close now, it’s just a question of finding time after work to fix the bugs.
  9. I will help in any way I can but I need some more details - what is the problem? Assuming you have downloaded the game have you unzipped it?
  10. The quality of the fish models has increased a lot in my next game - in the current game they consist of 64 triangles - in the next game they are made from over 200 and also reflect light more realistically.
  11. Yes - the next game does have see-through water and the carp models are much nicer looking. I have tried to improve the graphics in many ways as I hope you will see if you try the new demo when it's ready.
  12. Before Christmas this year I will release a free trial of my next game. The original game is still available for free download on my website www.3dcarp.com
  13. will do mate - hopefully before xmas and it will be around a tenner to buy.
  14. sorry - only just noticed the question - download is 10 MB.
  15. Just to let you all know… Soon I will have finished my 3DCARP game. It seems that another developer is also about to release a game with a VERY similar name – please note that my games are called 3DCARP and 3DCARP2 – this ‘other’ game is NOTHING to do with me – check the spelling carefully! Thanks - Julian
  16. Ah - that is the problem mate - you must unzip the ENTIRE folder before you can play the game! Right click on the 3DCARP.zip folder and select Extract All - this will create a new folder. You can then delete the zip file. Open the new folder and run the game.
  17. It may do - if you have DirectX9. I have only tested the game on XP so I am not sure. OK gozzer bear with me..... There are a few things we can try - I need to know what 3D card you have and also I need you to test DirectX. OK – bear with me – click on Start (bottom left of your desktop)– then click on Run – a new window will appear, in the text box type “dxdiag” and click on OK – that will start the DirectX diagnostic tool. Wait a minute for the tool to settle down. Near the bottom of the screen you will see the current DirectX version – should be 9.0c. Now click on the Display tab at the top. The name of your graphics card is shown near the top left. Make sure the 3 options for acceleration are set to Enabled (if possible). Now click on Test Direct3D and let me know what happens.
  18. hmm - sorry about that - Flash is needed for a lot of sites these days - normaly I would expect you to already have it. Try going to http://sdc.shockwave.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi and downloading it direct.
  19. You go to the downloads page and click the red button marked 3DCARP (new version)
  20. The next free version of my game is now available (version 3). It features many improvements including 3D rods and reels, much better graphics, improved fish intelligence and much more!
  21. I fish the Thames a lot for Carp and I love it - but don't forget that most river Carp are fish that have escaped from lakes in the first place.
  22. Sounds VERY odd - are you sure you have the latest version (2 lakes?).
  23. Please do! Thanks very much!!
  24. You need to install DirectX9. Go to the links page on my website ( http://www.3dcarp.webeden.co.uk ) and use the link at the bottom of the page. Let me know how you get on.
