  1. Hi all, I'll be buying a pair of new rods and I've decided on the Bruce Ashby Specialist rods. What tc should i go for? 1.25 or 1.75? I'll be using the rods on the river and in lakes fishing for bream, tench, chub and perch and i don't have to make long casts when fishing in lakes, but i often use the method feeder.

Thanks for the help guys Would an Avon rod work? Or should i use an quivertip rod?
  3. Hi all, I'm going chubfishing tomorrow for the first time and would like to know waht rigs and baits i should use. Would a simple ledger rig with a worm work ok in these hot conditions? Any tips would help.
  4. Hi all, I'm about to buy myself a new quiver rod and need help with the length of the rod. I fish alot of canals with bushes and trees on the side. This means that a 12' rod can sometimes be to long. I found a 11' rod and i would like to know what you guys think. Would a 11' make my cast shorter when fishing in lakes or not? What would you buy, 11 or 12?
  5. Cheers for the replies guys. I'll start tying up some rigs and which one is the best
  6. Hi all What knot do you use for thin hooklinks? I'm using hooklinks from 0.10mm up to 0.20mm and I'm using the Grinnerknot. The problem I'm having is that the hooklinks curls up when I tie them eventhough I'm taking great care when tying them up.
  7. I found this site today: http://www.purist.se
  8. Cheers fro the repilies. Might take a look at the Okuma.
  9. Hi all, I would like to start using a centrepin, but I've never used one before. Could you recommend a good newbie reel that won't break the bank?
  10. Thanks for the replies. I went for the Harrison rod
  11. Hi all, I'm looking to buy a new rod that will be used for tench, perch, bream in both rivers and lakes with a float. Been looking at the Drennan mkIV Tench Float, but also at the Harrison Avon rod and i can't really decide. I know that the Drennan rod is a dedicated float rod, but sometimes i like to use a controller for the carp and feel that i need a stronger rod for that. Anyone out there that has tried the 2 rods and can help me out?
