  1. Hi there, I'm trying to send you a PM. Your message box seems to be full. Tight lines
  2. Look good. Next time I'm in Oregon I'll check them out.
  3. Thanks Guys for all your good advice. This week I bought and used a smallish pimp one evening; caught 4 nice fish. At last, success with a buzzer I think I'll get some 'Loon' wool so in deep water the line will pass thru the eyes. Also the small trout pond I fish has a 'one fly only' rule. So, I can't use a booby as an indicator unless I nip off the hook bend. It does seem 'pimp' fishing is akin to float fishing, but I don't mind; I'm catching trout on buzzers. I expect that's sacrilege to some. But I also do enter the 'dark side' and go carp fishing
  4. I've been a couple of times buzzer fishing now and I see various types of ' indicators' are being used. There seems to be many types/styles of indicators available. I'm primarily bank fishing a 30acre reservoir or 3 acre pond. Which indicator do you recommend; please?
  5. Thanks Gus for your offer of help - much appreciated. Until I've made 15 posts I don't seem to be able to find your e-mail address and that's also why you can't send me a PM. I think this is my 14th post so I'll soon make the 15th and then I'm allowed in to all/some of the secrets Then I'll be in touch. Cheers.
  6. Thanks Tony - that's probably the problem. I'm using an 'old' olive thread out of my fly tying box, not even pre-waxed thread etc. I'll get some nylon thread which is less likely to absorb varnish etc. I'll let you know the result - cheers.
  7. Hi Tony, Just tied another and tried 'Black Spur' superglue still turned olive thread almost black. Perhaps wrong make of super glue? Surely somebody out there knows the answer - please.
  8. Sounds as if this could become very serious. Where fisheries breed and stock their own ponds they will have some natural protection, but:- To help stop the spread of infections generally I think it would be a good idea for ALL trout fisheries to have a 'dip bin' so all anglers can disinfect their landing nets before commencing fishing. Then we must try and persuade every angler to dip their nets etc.
  9. This morning I tied a couple of olive buzzers to take with me this afternoon. After tying I thought ' they look alright'. Then I put on Hard as Nails. Now I've got almost black buzzers. The olive green thread has darkened a lot, I guess by absorbing the HAN. Please tell me how I can stop my olives turning black.
  10. How do I find GlennB's e-mail address as it seems all members list/info is blanked from me I must have been a bad boy - it wasn't me who caught that fish from in front of you
  11. Can't send you a PM, haven't made 15 posts; yet
  12. Thanks Chris for the link. Looks an interesting site
  13. Thanks for that tip Dan. I'm just starting buzzer fishing on the lakes and reservoirs and I've read a lot about bobs/indicators. I like the sheeps wool idea as it's more discreet, saves money and very easy to collect; I live in Wales
  14. They sure sound good. Let's hope Jim Doyle browses the Forum again soon and reads this. I'd be very happy to buy some from him or put a donation in the local charity box. Thanks Sportsman for your responses.
  15. I understand the problem. Some forums I will not join/post on due to the sometimes abusive and rude nature of the postings I don't really know who I contacted . If it was not yourself I apologize; but, please tell me who rec'd my emails. I used the link on the forum error page "Contact the forums administrator" and sent the messages to:- forums@anglersnet.co.uk <forums@anglersnet.co.uk> The messages show as being sent via my email and they have not been bounced nor have I rec'd a reply. How long do you have to wait before having PM approval? Sorry guys to be 'off topic' here but I just want to know the rules etc and it seems open posting here is the only way to make any contact.
