  1. Wow even more info. At the moment I would just like some photo's of his work, fish carving came up in discussion with a mate and I remembered a few details of the Chris Ball fish. The carving stuck in my mind, the details didn't!
  2. Thanks for all that, I had a feeling it was Chris Ball it was presented to but thought if I mentioned it and it wasn't him then it would confuse matters.
  3. Thanks, got nowhere with it though several items but can't get any contacts or examples. It's given me a start though.
  4. OK longshot here but does anyone remember a carved common carp that was presented to someone about 12-15 years ago in the UK? It was a common and was fantastic and lifesize. Can't remember any details but looking for photo's info on who did it and who got it.
  5. Lee Norbury is hitting Lincoln on Monday Nov 6th. The talk will concentrate on the Trent, where has had some outstanding catches in the last few seasons and comes with a very high recommendation from Phil Kirk. Something of a rarity these days as he is a young man who can do a talk, come and see him now before he gets famous. Phil will be bringing a car load over and we don't want to be outnumbered so come along and support Lee, have a pint, talk pike and letch at the barmaid Check our blogspot below for details on how to find us. www.lincolnpac.blogspot.com Chico
  6. This is tomorrow night, Monday 2nd. Hope to see all the old and some new faces too.
  7. Bill Winship is the latest speaker to grace our doors on Oct 2nd (Monday). A great talk on mainly river piking in Yorkshire. Should be one not to miss so come along and have a beer and listen to what the ex pres has to say. See blog for the nitty gritty www.lincolnpac.blogspot.com
  8. Not long to go now, getting very twitchy. Bill on the 4th of Sept is our opener and one not to be missed.Don't care how you get there as long as you do.
  9. More huge names in the piking world added www.lincolnpac.blogspot.com
  10. Latest addition to our speaker list is the mighty Rob Christen, this is his only talk he'll be doing anywhere so the only chace you'll get to hear him.
  11. Click on the blogspot link to see the where and when, more quality speakers being added.
  12. Do yourself and us a favour and get up here, Bill would be worth walking that far to see.
  13. Bill really is a top top bloke and shouldn't be missed. Where abouts are you?
  14. Lincoln PAC (RA48) are over the moon to announce that their opening speaker in Sept is the one and only Bill Palmer, not sure just how we did it but we did. Bill will not be doing the talk planned for Leeds but a longer more detailed talk on his piking, there will be a slight overlap but this will be something to come and see even if you are catching him at the convention. Bill is truly a legend in the piking world and one of the nicest blokes you could ever meet, come along and swell the ranks and say hello to Bill, it might just be the nearest you get to pike Heaven. Details and the nitty gritty at http://lincolnpac.blogspot.com/
  15. Budgie, no worries at all, get in touch when it's best for you. Hopefully Steve and JK will have told us how they get on with theirs by then.
  16. Steve and J.K. let me know how you get on with them once they have seen some action.
  17. Cheers Newt, that'll explain things.
  18. Steve and Budgie I can't seem to access anyone's pm's or emails, drop me a line at thewaits@btinternet.com and I'll sort you out the glove speil and give you details. Steve, not sure if you remember but you did a promo for caliber at Castaway of Lincoln many moons ago, I was the fella who was interested in the nets, you went out of your way to sort me out, many thanks.
  19. Well many thanks for all the nice words about the "Chico" gloves, very much appreciated. JK is sorted. I don't want to turn this into an advert but I was so anti glove until I came across these, met up with the dealer whilst at the Chicago muskie show and was so impressed I ended up as the UK agent, they are the only thing I deal in. If anyone does need to know more just drop me a line. With reference to lure nets, without doubt the best lure net ever made was by Steve Burke's Caliber tackle, Dave Lumbs is modelled on these although different around the head. I own a few of the calibers and wouldn't swap them for the world. I colud do with a spare handle (extending) if anyone has a spare lying around. As I said many thanks for the kind words, as far as I'm concerned they are the only glove thats good for you and good for the fish.
