Tope from the shore

One of the best shore marks I used to fish was Studland Bay in Dorset.

It had a sandy bottom but my favorite spot was to fish along side the Trailing Bank an artificial rock reef laid during the last war.

The water depth was about 6 to 12 feet on an undulating bottom. Lots of shell fish, sandeels and crab in this area.

Used a wide variety of baits, sandeel, mackeral fillets and king rag worms about 12 to 14 inches long with fangs like that thing out of Alien.

Was always a waiting game so a second rod for bass, dabs or sole was used to keep you awake.

I fish, I catches a few, I lose a few, BUT I enjoys. Anglers Trust PM
