New Member Looking to team up for Kayak Fishing

Hello all,Im looking to get into Kayak fishing and would appreciate some advice! I live in Barry and Im keen to get out onto the water,Iv got a a Tarpon 120 and I need to fit it out,has anyone any advice on what I should get, I was thinking of getting a decent telescopic rod to begin with!

hi there,ive just signed up on this forum today and i am glad to see there are some kayak fishermen out there.

a 6-8 foot stiff telescopic rod would be ideal as you do not need to cast very far.i prefer one with a short handle which doesnt get in the way whilst casting because you obviously will be sat down.

match this with a baitrunner type reel so you can set the baitrunner to the right tension for trolling a plug or red gill etc behind the kayak and when you hear the spool run grab the rod and with one turn of the handle its in gear and you are into your fish....cool stuff i can tell you
