Longford/Chipstead lake - Sevenoaks

Dear All

 

Recenlty registered to ask if anyone on here fishes or has fished the above water which is a n 80 acres gravel pit, in sevenoaks kent. I`ve fished it for 5 years now with only 5 fish to my name. Am always trying to learn more.

 

Any information you can give is very much appreciated.

I looked at joining the Holmesdale shortly before moving to Liverpool, and fished both long sides of the lake during Oct - Dec 2002.

 

The side opposite the sailing club by the dam was more productive. In the short time I fished it, I had a couple of small carp - max. 8lbs from the stretch by the dam although I saw a respectable double from near the sailing club. Both myself and the other guy who caught the double were using hair rig, running leger tactics no more than 10 yards from the bank.

 

I was using AceBaits tutti frutti boilies (I think they were 15mm). Can't vouch for the other guy though.

 

I have to say that it isn't what I'd call an easy water! On both occasions I fished there, the local sailing club seemed to have no regard for anglers lines - which were out long before the dinghies put in an appearance on the water, and within months I had moved to Liverpool anyway.
