We had a run off with the new skipper (Stevie Baul) yesterday and decided on a 5.am start from Hartlepool marina. It was the first time he had been out in the swiftcat but like all good skippers he was soon in the swing. The fishing was patchy though. We ran over 8 wrecks with only odd fish here and there so tried the ground off Boulby which also only yielded the odd cod or two, and never saw a mackeral all day. The best two I could manage were these pair - the biggest just over 10lb with 5 smaller ones. Still that's fishing.

Sounds like a pleasant day out Alan.

I went out with Glossop Anglers Club with Richard on the Sly Torque.

Again it was patchy fishing but Richard put us on cod on a wreck somewhere over the horizon and everybody (10) of us caught.

A very enjoyable day with fish and chips to finish it off.

Thanks Richard and John the crew. :D:D

It has been said many times Ivan, but it is nice to just be out on a boat fishing. If fish are caught it is a bonus. Glad to hear you enjoyed your trip as well. Looking forward to the next one as always. :)
