A question about waggler floats & rods.

ive just recently found out theres a smallish lake near where i live that is stock with carp and bream, but the only method used there is the waggler float due to the size of the lake itself, now what i was wondering is,

do you need to use a waggler rod to be able to use the waggler float method? as i only have my 12ft carp rods.

i do have 2 reels that i use for float fishing on a float rod, but what i want to know is wil it be alright using my carp rods and my float reels together for waggling?,

the only float rod i have left is the same as this one. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/kingfisher-float-rod...bayphotohosting

Really, any rod of more than 1.5lb tc is going to be over-gunned for waggler fishing. How big do the carp go and are there any bad snags that you'll need to keep them away from?

As long as there are not too many snags then the float rods you mention should cope as they are quite robust.

I have landed Carp knocking 20lb on my float rod and with balanced tackle it should not be a problem, indeed for carp of the size you mention a float rod would be my preferred option.

After a certain age, if you don't wake up aching in every joint, you are probably dead.

Yup, what Tony said. I like the Drennan Giant Wagglers for this sort of fishing. They're mis-named really, because they're hardly any bigger than normal wagglers, they just carry more shot for their size. The 2 AAA size works fine for most situations, with the 2 shot locking the waggler on the line and fine-tuning provided by a No 4 swivel connecting the hooklength to the main line.
