river clyde in renfrew

hi people i have just started taking up fishing again and have been fishing in the clyde in the renfrew area, i have only caught 1 wee flounder and alot of crabs, i was using makerel and mussels as bait but then got told to use peeler crab as i would catch fish with that i have used it but had nothing am i just unlucky or am i doing something wrong any info would be great guys oh and girls thanks.

I've always caught using ragworn, which you can buy, athough the quality isn't always guaranteed, or dig you own (can be hard going, but I find Greenock esplanade good)

 

Fresh peeler can be a great bait, but if you're fishing further up river, you might only catch eels and flatties.

 

Haven't fished the Clyde this year so far, hoping to get a session soon.
