Nice article Peter.

 

A thing occured to me though - so you can get pics and all.

 

I use this net - opening is 20x23" (inches) and it will expand to 36" deep with a large/heavy fish. Handle is strong fiberglass and will go from 46" to 78". Mesh is smooth rubber and lures don't catch in it nor do fish take any harm. I know this is much shorter and smaller than the nets you folks normally use but it is great for a boat. I use mine for the occasional shore session too. Does well with carp. Very tough unit too. Never had a net tear or a handle bend.

 

If you want a pic, net the fish, stand on the handle long enough to raise the net out of the water, take the pic, and then lower the net back into the water.
