24 Hour Session at Emmotland Ponds

Well I am back from my first fishing trip in 6 years and to say I was looking forward to it was an understatement, can't fault the bailiff really nice fella, however when I arrived at my swim I could have cried, it was just wall to wall lily pads!! Now don't get me wrong I think lily pads make a very decent feature to fish off but when they are litlerally in front of the swim and then reach out over 20 ft it just gets a bit ridiculous, I couldn't even plumb the depth because I kept getting snarled up on the damn things. To top it all off after a very quiet afteroon and night I lost two fish in the lilys after lots of hard work getting them feeding in my swim off the top.

 

Some people may disagree with me but as far as I am concerened there is no need to keep the lily's like that it just seems to be laziness in fact the swim to the right of me was closed due to them!!! I travelled 100 hundred miles to lose two fish not to mention the £80 I spent while I was there! Bit of a shame really because the place is full of carp, I just think with a bit of hard work it could be a very, very good fishery
