the river tays roach

was reading in a certian coarse fishing magazine that you can fish for roach up to 2lb on the tay for free. but does not tell you where i was just wondering if anyone on here had ever fished for them and if they could give me advice on where the best spots are and the best rigs to use??

Perth harbour used to be good but I think a lot of fish were removed a few years ago, how old was the mag?

I also heard about the removal of many of these fish - possibly with the aid of a trawler!!
